Tiffins quality has gone down over the last few years, especially for the price..
Breeze-No
Open road and Open Road Reds are the most dependable imo
Phaetons and Bus’s were the best built back 05-09
Zephyr-break the bank..
5 years experience of 40 hours a week
non-stop motorhome service one after the other... there are good ones
And bad ones I’m sure camper or rv

So how much does a camp ground spot run now days? Say you were headed West how much could you expect to pay each night?

Depends on where you are going. A camper needs to plug in to run AC a motorhome has a generator. If you are only going places with power a camper is the way to go. If you are going places with no power a motorhome is the way to go. The generator will run off the fuel tank and you dont have to lug around a portable generator and keep filling it up with gas.

Yes if you are only camping at campgrounds most have power. Some do not how ever. And some like to camp off grid by themselves or in remote areas with no power. Sites with hook ups usually cost more. Why do you think everyone uses motorhomes for tailgating. If you are only camping at campgrounds with power a camper is the way to go. It will save you money.

Never really thought about it to be honest. I had pop up at deer camp but used generator for power since I had no hook up, Makes sense now. Thanks

35 to 75 is the best guess and depends on location and amenities. Reservations are advisable on the slab.

I have had a few different campers mostly just pulled and left them at campground or hunting club. The 5th wheel was a Montana really nice. I don’t think I would want to pull one cross country. Motor homes are fuel burners from the little experience I have had with one.

Thanks for the replies. I lean more toward a bumper pull (maybe a fifth wheel, but we would lose most of the usable bed space of the truck) and DoA leans more toward a motor home.

Okay I've held back with opinions so far. But you and DoA are both wrong.
I've been down this rabbit hole before. It's way cheaper and less stressful to find a hotel or cabin to rent on your vacation.
Owning a camper or motor home is a full time commitment. You're going to be buying tags, working on it, doing maintenance, winterizing paying for insurance etc, etc, etc.
It never ends. It's a constant job and constant expenses for very little return.

My opinions and comments are my own. They do not reflect the position or political opinions of Aldeer or any of the Aldeer administration.

Bingo! By the time you pay for the extra gas in your truck and the insurance, maintenance, and "extras" for your camper or motorhome you'd be way better off just finding a condo, hotel, or cabin. Unless you're planning to live in certain places for more than a week or two at a time, I can't see how the numbers would work out better in your favor

TexasHuntress after reading this thread it got me thinking as well and now I would like to retract my initial statement of interest in Keystone, Forest River or any "sticks and tin" constructed trailer. While many people have valid points about hotels and such if you really want that lifestyle, fiberglass molded is apparently the way to go. Oliver, Bigfoot,Casita, and Parkliner to name a few. A 17 footer new can run $50,000...as much as a new lower end 40 footer 5th wheel. The fiberglass construction is where the cost is. Resale value is way higher than traditional campers also. Just FYI. Im gonna be on the lookout myself now for a used "egg" camper.

I'd either get one from these guys: https://olivertraveltrailers.com/ or I'd go with an Airstream. The rest are just thrown together pcs of shat from what I've seen.
