As the title says, I am looking for a hunting truck or SUV. I would actually prefer a small to midsize SUV, but will also entertain the idea of a small to midsize pickup.
Must be 4x4, reliable, heat and AC working. SWB a plus. Not looking for any major issues to repair or a project. Looking for something that I can knock around town in too.
I have been looking at Nissan pathfinders, Isuzu rodeos and troopers, Toyota 4 runners, and Jeep Cherokees. Not looking for anything lifted or fancy after market wheels; no cut fenders, etc. Also not interested in any soft top vehicles.
I have looked at both Facebook market place and Craigslist. What I am finding is either ragged out, or too good to be true/ shady looking deals. Figured I would check here as I have a little more confidence in the members here.
I'd like to stay at a cap of $4500, but could afford more for the right vehicle.
Thanks for any help.
I am in Pickens county, but could travel for the right deal.

I'd stay with the Jeep Cherokee or Toyota 4Runner out of your list solely based on aftermarket parts availability. I have a 2000 Rodeo and parts are not as easy to find. Especially things like winch bumpers, etc.

"Cull" is just another four letter word...

Early to mid 2000s Tahoe’s fit the bill nicely. You can find them in your price range that have only been used as grocery getters. I used them for hunting rigs before I needed to pull a tractor and I actually prefer them to a truck except for towing a tractor.
Somebody had a nice one on here the other day.

A stock Cherokee would be your best bet. Plenty of power, extremely capable offroad, and reliable. They're like having a street legal side by side

Bought a '06 4-Runner to Turkey hunt out of and let my oldest drive it when he turned 16 and now my youngest is driving it. When he moves up I will not sell it because it is such a good little rig to hunt/knock around in. That's a good looking rig Hevi GLWS!
