I just had to Google what all the hubbub was about the Channel 31 Weather Gal (nice but no prize winner, there IMO), and found a bunch of tales from employees about the people that had worked there and some of their antics. Some of them are entertaining, some not so. The one about accidently broadcasting XXX movies while covertly converting them from film to VCR for personal use was a good ‘un: http://www.31alumni.com

There was a local tv celeb, Jamie Cooper who had a low budget morning show (maybe on channel 42 or 54) where he and his best friend (can't remember his name) would pick guitars and sing a little between doing regular cheap morning show stuff. One morning the show opens and neither one is there. Jamie shows up shortly with his hair a mess, red faced and shirt torn. It seems that he had a hunch (no pun intended) that something was going on with his wife and best friend so he went back home just after leaving for the tv station. Found his best friend riding dirty on his wife and beat his ass. Then he went to work and told about it on live tv. It was hysterically funny!!!
I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

Me and Travis use to do a lot of the HVAC work for Channel 31 and did all of the work for channel 48.
One time I was at channel 48. Getting ready to do some work on a rooftop unit. The site engineer asked me if I thought it was going to rain. I laughed and said, “hell JT ask Brad(Travis). He’s right there.”
He asked Brad...and as serious as could be - Brad said, “Hell, beats me.”
It was a fun place to hang around while working on stuff. Interesting to see the TV people in person.
Channel 48 actually gave me and Travis permission to hunt one of their Transmission sites on the side of Monte Sano Mountain. They acted like it’s a standing invite. About A 10 acre tract. I never did take them up on the offer.
