I think it’ll be good, but I’m still scratching my head over going with the Grendel case, and the pressure/bolt limitations vs the 6.8/30 rem and say TAC 6?....it’s not much less than the other cats can do with a heavy 6, but it can’t be improved much by handloading, either.....maybe that’s their point: saturate the market with enough accurate target and hunting load options, that it’s not worth the trouble to load? It’s probably a better Grendel than a Grendel, any way you slice it.

The Grendel is a better choice. IF you made me tote a 6mm it would be the .240 Roy. Years back Jim Carmichael at OL killed a 422 lb black bear with one.
Skinny is my EX.Alcohol was involved.

give me a M-14 any day, all day over any damn 6mm.
I've spent most of the money I've made in my lifetime on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted.....

I read today the Military chose the .277 Sig Fury for their next round. Hybrid SS/brass case. 130gr (likely SMK) running 3000 fps.
Jason
They were vetting the .277 Sig Fury for a belt fed machine gun round.

I'm a fan of 6mm pills, but I'd rather run them in bolt guns. I'm sure Hornady will sell a gazillion of them... most folks now-a-days seem to swallow the latest in marketing schemes all the way to the cork.
You gonna pull them pistols, or whistle Dixie?

Folks often have trouble viewing a given cartridge design from the perspective of WHY it was designed, WHAT it was designed to do it in, and WHO it was designed to do it for. If you need a heavier, longer, slower shooting, slower loading rifle, for the grizzly bears you’ll never hunt or the battle you’ll never fight outside of call of duty, this round wasn’t designed for you. It does EXACTLY what it was intended to do, in the rifles it was intended to do it in, for the folks it was intended for, AND be commercially viable, since there’s a market there these days. IF it crosses over into other areas/uses, that’s icing on the cake. If it displaces the 243, 30-30, 22-250, etc, it wasn’t because it was designed to. It’s just another option to fit the AR15 magazine platform that wasn’t commercially available, AT ALL. Zero 6mm (designed specifically for and that were reliable) AR15 compatible cartridges were available commercially, until now. Kinda irrelevant how many were out there for other stuff. LOL
