If a person decided to defend their business, what suggestions would you offer? Trying to figure out if I’m leaving anything out. I pray it doesn’t happen but want to be prepared if it does.

Have enough guns with ammo there to be sure you dont get overtaken. If you start a job you need to finish it. Other than that you just sit and wait.

As mentioned I'd have plenty of guns and ammo. I wouldn't be reloading the first gun I would be setting one down and pick another one up. I'd be sure to have several able bodies helping as well.

I’d rent some concrete barriers and put in front of my store if I were you. Actually, being a pharmacy, I’d by some and leave them there all the time to prevent a vehicle from crashing through.

The average thug looter isn't organized or prepared....no gas mask, goggle, hearing protection, helmets, body armor. Just thugs in a hoodie with a bandana...and gun, knife , sticks, bricks sometimes.
So you have options for deterrent of criminal activity then neutralization of any threats.
1. 5'x 8' foot photo of Kenmack laying down on doe with his buddy.
2. Video of Jame's womens playing on big screen.

If those things don't work for the blind thugs, then.

3. Pepper spray...bear spray canisters with long reach.
4. Bag full of snakes loose on your floor

If those fail to thwart them...then

4. Shotgun blast with bird shot..if they advance then
5. Shotgun with buckshot...if overrun, then
6. Cluster bomb (in order of severity)
grin

Seriously, look into rolling security doors and dry fire suppression system...and trip wire to release snakes on their head would just be a good Youtube moment.

All of the above plus a Good insurance agent and lawyer to take of the damage if you're successful or to make sure your family is taken care of if not.

Don’t listen to Straycat. I saw him and the family out eating about a week ago and I could have been doing jumping jacks next to his table and he still wouldn’t have noticed. Of course he is a professional eater so he was probably in his game mode. grin

I was a sitting duck and completely distracted by the menu. I was Dead Man Sitting. You promised not to tell the Aldeer gang. I see how you work. grin

Shotguns and several of them
If I were to use one in a situation like this they would be loaded With #4 turkey shot
It’s deadly at close range and out to 40 yds and past that it will penetrate and burn like the devil on judgement day
One other thing is a good defensive/offensive position that won’t leave you exposed but will allow you to see everything

Overwhelming force from the onset, you have to make a statement. Buckshot is a force multiplier and that is what you’ll need if you choose to engage a mob. If you have other folk with you y’all need to shoot at separate intervals providing covering and sustained fire. Do not stop firing until the threat is gone. Have one armed person in a vehicle on the property ready to drive over them if need be. You can stage some large flower pots with propane tanks in them with a gallon gas can in there too. You run extension cords with the female end cut off and the wires shorted into the gas can, plug the extension to ignite the gasoline then shoot the propane tank. If you can deploy in an imaginative way high test fishing line with eagle claw treble hooks you can further defend the business. If you have to go hand to hand a machete in the strong hand and ice pick in the other works great.

Best of luck

Cylinder choked shotgun, no plug, with #4 3"mag buckshot. 41 pellets per load at 20.7 Gr per pellet. For reference a standard .22 is 40 Gr so it's a decent sized chunk of lead fully capable of stopping a human cold. At 20-25 yds with a cylinder choke, whatever you are pointing at will flat out be mowed down. Guy that knows his stuff told me once that everytime you pull the trigger it's like shooting forty .22 bullets downrange at the same time and it is devastating on the recieving end.
