It's not the first time they called him a racist and i doubt its the last... It pissed me off the he apologized for it but I understand why he did . I listen to a lot of sermons while driving and when I'm in south Alabama I often listen to sermons from black preachers. Its pathetic how much racist crap they spew from the pulpit ! No wonder so many blacks hate us. I try to love my neighbor but its hard not to get caught up in all this . If yall get a minute, read straycats devotional from yesterday. Did me some good.

Pastor Chris is pretty conservative in his political beliefs. However, the Bible says that you should not cause each other to stumble, and him liking those posts did just that. It gave heartburn to some of his congregation regarding the pastor publicly supporting one political party over the other. While I don’t think his apology was necessary on a personal level, I don’t have an issue with it from a pastoral standpoint. He needs to be able to minister to people regardless of their political affiliations, and he may not be able to do that if he’s liking staunchly conservative things on social media. The Bible also says something about truth, and being honest. The pastor was doing exactly that and he owed nobody an apology.
My opinions and comments are my own. They do not reflect the position or political opinions of Aldeer or any of the Aldeer administration.

Is this "feel good" religion? Some things are needed to make us feel uncomfortable. Not everyone is going to heaven and they need to be told that. Of course that includes liberals and conservatives. Right and wrong is right and wrong.

Often, Pastors of mega churches try to do alot of fence straddling. Guys like Joel Osteen and Rick Warren started out well. Once the money started flowing well they felt pressured to soften the contours of their messaging to please everyone. I Im not sure if it applies here, but in the fullness of time we will know.

Often, Pastors of mega churches try to do alot of fence straddling. Not only mega churches. I would say most churches. When was the last time you heard from the pulpit, divorce is wrong, abortion is wrong, etc...... Pastors need to galvanized their stance with scripture and not based on recruiting and the amount in the tithe plate.
Isaiah 5:20 Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.

My wife and I have been members there for a number of years. COTH appears to strive for excellence and everything that I've personally seen/heard is Biblically accurate. That being said, the continued self-imposed coronavirus shutdown thru 21 June, and now this response is becoming too much for me personally. I don't believe that churches should have closed the doors to everyone during a health crisis, and I absolutely disagree with apologizing for liking political content that was truthful. Will they apologize for upsetting those who disagree with their stance on abortion, homosexuality, and other Biblical truths? If churches fold under this political correctness, government mandates, and fear of a disease, how can they withstand real persecution when times get worse? I'm personally not angry at Pastor Chris or COTH in any way. I'm just tired of Christian men caving in to political pressure, and the subsequent virtue signaling that follows. We as Christian men have got to stand firm in our beliefs and not be tossed around by the waves of political correctness. The constant apologies are fuel on the fire of the constantly offended.
