I don't think most trespassers are smart enough to think up a quid pro quo, on the spot like that. My thoughts also. When I think trespasser, I don't think scholar. no but the land owner doesnt want a GW snooping around to catch the trespasser and stumbling into land owners corn pile most people that were baiting before the law didnt want a GW anywhere near their property for any reason

Of course they sold more corn license than hunting license, I had to buy corn license for my nine and 11-year-old boys I will buy one for myself but I refuse to pay them one dime to take a child that is exempt from needing a license a fee to hunt over corn I have 3 kids thats $45 a year if I get caught well go to court and they can earn whatever the ticket costs Im sure it will be less than the amount I saved over the years by not buying the permit anyway

Well I'm one of the ones that bought a baiting license but not a hunting license because I have a Lifetime license. The same could be said of my youth hunter. Those two, senior hunters and landowners hunting on their own property is where this disparity is. That statistic is just Chuck trying to make the "entitled" crowd buy a license.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

It's got nothing to do with baiting. I'll handle my own trespassing issues my way. I've never needed a cop for anything, my entire life, not ever.

I will not knowingly create a situation where my boys could have a negative encounter with a law enforcement officer.

they going to arrest a nine year old for no corn license????? Good luck with that. He might be able to get a concealed corn permit. Its CORN! Unbelievable that the state gets to charge a fee for corn we buy and pay tax on, on private property. On the upside, I pay the fee, pour corn out next to the porch, drop rock on any random 8 point. Every day. Master Baiter.

I'd say GW's had more time to try to catch trespassers since they weren't spending all their time trying to sniff out every corn pile in the woods. Also, more and more cell cams are being deployed in the woods which makes it much easier to monitor your land and catch trespassers. I speak from experience on that one It's this. Cell cams are becoming ubiquitous in the woods because nowadays as they aren't $600 units anymore, and GW's have more time on their hands since baiting went legal. Wardens and sheriff's react a lot differently when you can call and tell them there is someone on your property, right now, versus telling them that you got pictures or video from a couple of weeks prior. Huge difference in my experience. Cell cams gonna put a hurting on career piddlers for some time.

I can’t see why anyone sees it to be a fun way to hunt over bait... jmo I thought it was pretty fun dog hunting.. now just set there and look straight down at the bait.. I personally don’t care to sit around and wait to shoot a goat under any circumstances, but my boys like it and that makes it extremely fun. I don’t see any difference in hunting over corn or a clover patch, except that corn is more effective. When we go, I like for them to see some deer, whether we shoot one or not.

It really pisses me off that us lifetime license holders have to purchase any other type of permit. Rather it’s for baiting of fishing a reef for red snapper. It pisses me off even more that our youth, seniors and landowners have to buy it. Haven’t the landowners and seniors of our state paid enough in taxes already? Ridiculous!
