I think I would be money ahead to get out of the cattle business, or maybe hire a mesican. Anybody got a number for Trox?

Supposedly old age will catch up but I try my best to keep it away. Not for vanity but so I can be able to do things I do.

My granddaughter inquired about my exercise routine. In light of the world’s turmoil which I didn’t mention to her, I said “Baby, I hope you never have to see why Pop-Pop stays in shape”

I have a partial tear in left shoulder and a complete tear in the right. Has anyone had surgery to fix a labrum? Is the recovery long? I don/'t want to do it. I hate hospitals, but I cant stand this right one much longer.

Good luck Lefthorn keep us posted on what the Doc advises.

I had a superior labrum anterior and posterior (SLAP) tear and bicep tendonesis (detaching and reattaching in a different place) surgery this past Feb. 5th. It was an outpatient procedure and I was probably not there three hours arrival to discharge. The first week sucks pretty bad because it is a challenge to do some things with your arm in a sling and the post-op pain. My recovery was more difficult because of the bicep tendonesis and might be why physical therapy was so painful for me. I was limited on how many degrees of motion I could move my arm in certain directions for a few weeks while the bicep healed. I was paddling a kayak the end of May (almost four months after surgery). I still don't have the range of motion that I would like without it being uncomfortable, but the pain is better now than before surgery. I, also, have probably not been as diligent about doing certain exercises once I quit going to PT, either. They do say that it can take up to a year to be fully over it, though.

If it is your dominant side, start practicing now doing daily things with your non-dominant side so it won't be such a struggle if/when you have surgery.

Ok. Had surgery today. Doc said it wasn’t as bad as he thought when he got in there. Trimmed the acronium and collar bone and cleaned up some “debris” and arthritis. Didn’t have to repair either tear(rotator cuff or labrum). So hopefully that means shorter recovery time

Do the PT, which will hurt like the devil for couple months. I had similar surgery, was 9 months to a year before I felt like it was full strength again.

My shoulder PT was painful. I had a professional ball player acqross from me on the table and he couldn't take what I was going through and left.

As with most things, it was worth it.

Had the exact same thing even down to the hook on my acronium. And you are right, that dang shot bout made this grown man cry but it did provide some relief for about two weeks. Eventually had the surgery in Birmingham. Dr. Jeffrey Dugas at Andrews Sports Medicine did mine. It was worth the drive from Montgomery. First class organization top to bottom.

How long was recovery? Day after surgery so far so good. Only took pain meds last night to help with sleep. Ibuprofen this morning and have sling off using arm a little

Started doing limited PT like leaning over and doing circles with the arm the next day. Then started doing finger walks up the wall and in the shower shortly there after. I stopped the hard meds after about a day and a half. Started having weird side effects like night sweats and really strange dreams. I recall I was pretty close to normal range of motion after about six weeks. The PT is painful but you have to start it quickly or you won't get all your range of motion back.
