Has an autopsy been completed showing the cause of death? If not how can anyone say the policemans actions caused his death for certain? What if the guy had a heart attack and died? uh, because they were trained NOT to do what they did, due to the fact that it is known to causes heart attacks. He had his knee on the man’s neck for 9 minutes. Have you wanted the video? The guy wasn’t moving and he still had his knee on his neck. He had his hands in his pockets, knee on the neck of a hand cuffed prone man like he was just relaxing. When every police agency in the county comes out to say that isn’t proper procedure, you still want to claim the officer wasn’t in the wrong? Preexisting condition or not, that man is dead because the officer keep his knee on his neck for 9 minutes. So if you put your knee on my neck for 9 minutes I am going to die guaranteed? Yes. With your hands cuffed (or even uncuffed), on the ground on your chest, with a knee on your neck and another officer on your legs. Want to try it?

I am not saying the officer was in the right obviously but I am not going to scream murderer until their is medical evidence that shows his actions caused the death. If that is what the autopsy shows then that's what I will call it. earlier in the thread i posted the definition of Positional asphyxia which has been medically proven to cause heart attacks and death. Great is that what the autopsy showed was the cause of death?

I preexisting condition doesn’t negate a murder. If someone is dying of cancer and has days to live and a suffocate them, I murdered them. If someone has a heart condition and I suffocate them, I murdered them. My action caused their death, preexisting condition or not.
If this man had died quickly, it would be different. But, the officer was on his neck for 9 minutes. Even after he was cuffed and not moving. He wasn’t struggling to keep him still or keep him from fighting. So suffocation is what the autopsy showed? I looked but could not find it.

After seeing the full length video clip and not just the 20 sec blip that first showed up yesterday, the officers were definitely in the wrong and most likely will be charged in some capacity, as they should be. The autopsy will tell whether the knee to the neck cut off blood flow to the brain or stopped his breathing and at that time, will determine the extent of the charges against the officers. Murder, manslaughter, or contributory negligence on the part of the officers will be determined by the autopsy results. If the autopsy shows that he was not suffocated and that lack of bloodflow to the brain did not occur, they will be hard pressed to get a murder conviction on the officers, in which case
Either way and regardless of the final charges against the officers, and it will never replace the man's life, but his family is going to be rich $$ as a result of this stupidty on the officer's part.

Have any of you seen the video of the protesters attacking the elderly white lady in a wheelchair that was trying to block them from looting? I wonder why that didn't make the news? That is horrible and is a crime. But, it doesn’t excuse the police. I love when people on here say, well this happened too, like that makes the first crime okay. I mean a white guy got killed, so why is it a big deal if a black guy is killed. I tend to look at it not that a black man was killed by police, but that a man was unjustly killed by a police officer. I am merely pointing out the double standard. These events only get attention when it is a white cop and a black perp. You must admit that is the only scenario that generates outrage, protests, and looting. If the races were reversed, we would never even know about it. I have not seen you or any other on here upset about a white guy being killed by police. Why is that? I am not the one that inserted race into this.

I stayed away from this thread for various reasons. A couple things are clear to me.. there was some sort of non compliance, officers placed a knee on individuals head to subdue the individual- which is actually a taught tactic in combat defensive training. For how long or how hard if the knee action was justified Is in the air. I’m reading that the reason they got out with the individual was for check fraud, which in fact may or may not have been true. Not sure about Minnesota, but check fraud is a felony, and if it happened in Alabama the officers were in the right to place the individual into custody thanks to the laws of arrest. An individual dying is a tragedy and I nor any of you know all the facts. I think y’all should question the non compliance.. perhaps if complied non of this would have happened. As with anything else these days the agenda behind it is the only reason it gained the attention it did. I’ll add that I wouldn’t be on a dude’s neck for nine minutes.

You will either die or have irreparable brain damage. After a 3-4 minutes brain cells start to die. If oxygen is cut off long enough, you’ll have a stroke and die or be a vegetable.

He did not die from having one carotid artery questionably "pinched" from the knee to neck. Asphyxiation from lack of air is another story.

You don’t know me so I’m not sure how you know if I am upset about police brutality as a whole or not. But, I can promise I see more of it against people white and ack that most anyone on this site. I’ve seen whites beaten by cops for no reason too. It is wrong no matter the race. I don’t care what the narrative is on the news, I’m just going to call it like I see it.

What cracks me up is all the people that don’t care that every police organization in the country has said this isn’t proper technique and that the officer was in the wrong. Why is that funny to you?

That cop used excessive force. If that was my loved one treated like that, I would be pissed.

God for bid some of yall ever get on jury duty. Some of these comments are unbelievable. Making excuses for these cops just shows me the hate inside your hearts. I dont have hate in my heart Jake. I am not making excuses for anyone but half the people here have convicted the police of murder already and we do not even have an autopsy! These things have happened over and over and most of the time when the facts come out the original narrative is proven to be different than what actually happened. I just want people to wait on all the facts before condemning people murderers. You would want me on a Jury cause I would argue until we got all the possible information

That cop used excessive force. If that was my loved one treated like that, I would be pissed. Sorry your brother was beaten to death. He shouldn’t have tried to get away. Sorry your unarmed brother was shot in the back over a traffic stop, he shouldn’t have run away from the officer. Sorry your unarmed son was shot by two guys, he shouldn’t have been trespassing days early on someone else’s property.
