Sevin won't kill aphids, but I thought malathion would. I've had them bad too. First time I used Dawn dishwashing liquid in water, next I used Neem Oil. I'm about to spray them with Permethrin.

Find you a metal wand for your sprayer and use a tubing bender and bend it to where you can spray under the leaves. The aphids hide under the leaves. Mix 1oz of permethrin to the gallon and soak the under side the leaves. You’ll have to do this after every rain.

I've got them pretty bad as well. The Dawn soap solution didn't work. The Neem oil seemed to knock them down some. I guess I'll have to try the Permethrin.
I have also read where certain herbs like dill and cilantro will keep them away. The same goes for Merigolds (flowers).

That was going to be my next question. I found a 36.8% permethrin solution on amazon.
1/2 oz. of a ~40% solution of permethrin mixed with 1/2 gallon of water will create a ~0.3% solution permethrin.
1 oz. of a ~40% solution of permethrin mixed with 1/2 gallon of water will create a ~0.6% solution permethrin.
I'll let you know how it works.
For what its worth, the internet recommends a 0.25% solution of permethrin for insect control on a vegetable garden.

Ive burnt stuff with the malathion fur. Use it with caution. Good poinon, just dont mix it too strong. Im sure thats what I did. Ive got used to mixing in a 300gal sprayer. When I go down to 3gal its hard to get the mix right. Just seems like im not putting anything in it. Thanks for the info. I was planning on spraying in the morning but I may wait til late in the afternoon in case sunshine or temp is a factor

Dang, well maybe I'll go get some permethrin in the morning.
