We have several of these trees on our place. I watched 6 doe yesterday, literally gorge out on the pods that had falled to the ground. They would eat in the plot for a while then make their way back over to the Honey Locust tree. It was pretty cool watching them pick up the long bean pods and just chew them from one end to the other. Had one big doe that kept standing on her hind legs in an effort to reach the ones hanging low. Wish I would taken my camera, it was quite a show. Here is one of the trees. If you have one on your place, the deer absolutely love these pods. I broke one open and they are sweet as honey, I guess that is where they get their name.

Wisdom doesn't always come with age.
Sometimes age shows up all by itself.

For some reason, they won't touch the ones on my property. But they are loving the persimmons right now.
