Do you realize what you posted there? The flu vaccine is not a cure either. The flu is constantly evolving and new vaccines have to be made. Also the flu never leaves. It can be contracted any time of the year. The rest of what you posted is nonsense with nothing to back it up.

https://www.cdc.gov/media/releases/2017/p1213-flu-death-estimate.html
This says that the worlds poorest countries have the most flu deaths
https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/us/
And this shows how many people in the US have died from covid, so the rest of what I posted isn't nonsense and it's backed up. I also never said we had a cure for the flu. And I said never said the flu leaves, I said there was a period of time in the year where it is around a lot more.

Calm down perch. It’s not healthy for you to stay so damn worked up. Just stay away from folks and you’ll be just fine.

I'm here, just not very often.

Most people that die from the flu live in very bad countries and are in poverty and can't get medical help. We have a vaccine for the flu and it is only around a lot for 3-4 months. There is no cure for Covid and there isn't a season for it, anyone can die for it. There have already been 27k+ deaths in the US and the first death we had was a little over a month ago.

Flu is diagnosed in every month of the year. 61 thousand people in the united states died from flu in the 2017-2018 season. The mortality rate ran above 10 percent for a significant portion of the 12 month season.

From the CDC - "Nationally, mortality attributed to P&I exceeded 10.0% for four consecutive weeks, peaking at 10.8% during the week ending January 20, 2018."

https://www.cdc.gov/flu/about/burden/2017-2018.htm

45% of adults got the flu vaccine and we still had 61K die. How many would have died without the vaccine?

I'm thinking perch has been taking estrogen by accident. Cause that fear mongering ignorant post can't be from him. The facts are coming out and they don't agree with the panic.

By age alone, elkhunter is in a group that should be taking every precaution to avoid the virus (if he has any other mitigating circumstances, that would make him more in need of avoiding it). Inviting folks in from all the world to hunt with him does not fit that bill. I love the man and am so glad he got better but he took exactly no precautions. He's not 25.

It is overblown....no doubt about it. Just look at the numbers you posted. Compare those numbers to where they said we would be right now. Way overblown and way over reacted. No way anyone could believe anything but that.

Two years from now look back at how many people died on earth this year. Look at the year before and the year after. I would bet the numbers are less than 1% different overall. In other words this virus dont matter, the same amount of people are going to die regardless.

Perchjerker = Jerk see how easy that was. I haven’t forgotten anything except there is a bunch of so called conservatives all of a sudden willing to let the government decide who gets to work, what businesses can stay open and limit people’s movements. So the next time you or any of those in your category of thinking talk about first or second amendment rights or anything about Democrats infringing on rights go pound sand and sit your scared ass in the corner while grownups handle the hard stuff.

I don't know perch, and I dont know you, but you have a valid point about the "so called conservatives"...I'm watching some of the most die hard, right handed, conservative folks I've ever known give themselves over to the fear and start readily handing rights away. I agree with BigT and Nightwatchman and others who make the same points.

I'd say it's pretty easy to have a strong stance on a web forum but not so easy when you or your loved ways are presumed to be in danger.

Our reaction was seemingly overblown, but we are looking at it from a Monday morning QB view. Our leadership didn't have the benefit of looking at the stats of the effects of COVID-19 in the U.S. on the front end of this thing.

I certainly wouldn't want a loved one to get it(or anyone for that matter). But I very much value my career. It could be covid 19 or any other sickness going around, it wont stop me from making a living to provide for my wife and unborn child.

In other words, I don't have a choice. The sickness itself very much scares me. But i just HAVE to go to work, I dont have a choice. I will lose my home and car if I don't. People conveniently leave that out of the discussion. I don't know many people who can afford to choose whether or not they go to work.

Say it with me...Freedom requires sacrifices.

All you people who harp on gun rights, but are willing to let the government shut down businesses and restrict travel for the coronavirus, are simply hypocrites.

Our reaction to COVID-19 was overblown. Period. Sure, it's as real as the next virus and exceptionally contagious, but it doesn't justify the shutdown our country is going through. Common sense should have been used. If you're in a higher risk category, take extra precautions like masks, extra hand washing, avoiding direct contact with others, etc. Here's some numbers from the ADPH that back this up.
