I was at the VA yesterday. It too was like ghost town. Everything but essential appointments and emergency surgery has been shut down. I ask and a nurse said to expect it to be this way until the end of SUMMER ! I was kinda shocked. There is no way our economy can survive that long a halt on commerce or our families can remain unemployed. God Bless America

Our VA home in Alex City has been hit pretty hard, 2 dead, 25 infected with 18 employees positive. A lot of true heroes sick there.

My gripe is this one business over here stays open and this other business over here has to close. The government “overblew” selectively and killed a bunch of mom and pop shops.

Ain’t no precautions for me. I’m essential. I take my ass to work every night now. Got moved to night shift because of this shucks. I agree it’s a dangerous virus. If your at risk, distance your self. I’m thankful to be working and feel bad for the people that are gonna lose everything because of government over reach. I’m 31 and have been employed at the same place for 14 years. It’s got plumb stupid there. I have friends that will bankrupt because the government deemed them nonessential. I've been pretty outspoken about the state effectively ruining people's lives and businesses. However, I don't think that the virus is fake. Viruses have been around for hundreds of years, but we don't just close up shop and quit living our lives. I really don't want to wake up tomorrow and be infected with the virus(which I might, I come into contact with lots of people from across the country everyday) but it won't stop me from making a living. I have worked very hard for very many years to earn a good paying job. I don't intend to lose it. I'm sure others who had their careers taken away from them felt the same way.

So I won't apologize. Entire situation was totally mishandled. And the thing is, everyone seems like they just let it happen. I have lost so much respect for so many people that I know personally who were so self sufficient, independent, forward thinking, and level headed before the outbreak. I have watched those same people blindly comply with this shutdown and criticize me for saying it is ruining people's lives. I even catch criticism myself for still going to work everyday. It's ridiculous. There are so many people I've known all of my life that I ALWAYS thought highly of and now have no respect for. Sad.

I get what you are saying Larry, but some of us are just too committed to Constitutional liberty. Consider if instead you were saying:

You don't have to have government tell you to stay home if you want to stay home out of an abundance to caution. You only need the government to impose your will on another free person.
