Like the title says, is antivirus even necessary for a cell phone? If so what do you use?

I've been told it isn't necessary for a cell. However I use avg because it has VPN and app locking

Try using ghostery app. It blocks a lot of the garbage

I'd suggest a good overall mobile security app...does much more than simple anti virus stuff.
I use Avast. But there are probably better ones.

IPhone. I made the swap 2 years ago and have never needed anything like that again. Androids get so junked up compared to an IPhone it’s amazing.
