Like the title says, is antivirus even necessary for a cell phone? If so what do you use?

I've been told it isn't necessary for a cell. However I use avg because it has VPN and app locking

I'd suggest a good overall mobile security app...does much more than simple anti virus stuff. I use Avast. But there are probably better ones.
