Coronavirus has made ya'll loose your damned minds. As I'm typing this Alabama has 131 confirmed cases with 0 deaths. ZERO.

Facts

Panic and the other BS I've read on this forum lately makes my stomach turn. I thought Alabamians had more sense than to fall into the panic mode.

I've heard every rumor imaginable lately. Nurses saying " you can't imagine how bad it is". "National Guard is mobilizing to enforce martial law." "Interstates shut down to prevent movement of the virus."

None of it is true, but everyone knows someone who knows something that's a fact.

The real tragedy is the loss of jobs, wealth and livelyhoods of hard working Americans because you Americans' let the media you so despise, steer your opinion into the panic mode. The death rate in the United States, as I type this, is .012 or 1.2% (341 deaths) .

United States death toll

That's far less than the estimated 34,200 deaths from the 2018-2019 flu season. (.0009). While this pandemic is not finished with the United States yet, it's not even a pimple on the ass of the flu.

Calm the hell down. Get back to normal and vote every SOB that propagated this travesty out of office.

The World Health Organization has admitted they screwed up the estimates.
Admitted screw up.

Bottom line, I don't trust shucks the government or anyone else says about this. 25 years as a paramedic has me looking at this entire thing with extreme doubt. In the end, a whole lot of people are going to look back on this the same way they did the Y2K bullcrap. Egg on their face but too proud to admit they were stupid.

Flame me if you want, I don't give a single chit. Facts don't support the panic. Period.

Character is not developed in moments of temptation and trial. That is when it is intended to be used.

I agree with you fully. As long as there’s no break in the food/medical chain we will be fine. If either one of those fail due to panic buying or us not being able to get products from the Chinks then there’s going to be major issues. High risk folks need to shelter in place and the rest of us carry on.

I was just thinking wallago about the aids epidemic which they tried to stop the spread of, which consisted of if I dont stick my penis in you or your needle in me it wont spread. America couldnt even do that. Now theyre telling us to stay 6ft away from each other. If we cant keep from screwing somebody who has a disease that will surely kill you, how are we gona stay 6ft away from anybody with a disease that we have a 1% chance of dying from? Just some crazy rambling thoughts of mine.

My views as well...my concern now is economy every day multiplies how long the recovery takes and unless a new economic system is developed we're way behind at the moment

Here’s the CDC report on the 2017/2018 flu season. Look at the deaths. I don’t remember us shutting the economy down.

The fight for the truth needs to continue long after the pandemic subsides. The media played a huge role in blowing this out of proportion. The death rate of this virus is very low unless the infected has ongoing health concerns. The economy has been decimated by the panic. Hard working people have had their 401k’s depleted. My big hope is that China will made to eat shucks if this country holds them accountable for this crap. Doing business with China should be frowned on from now until eternity. Our senators and congressman have let us down some have even profited or minimized their losses by selling holdings in the market. The trading should have been stopped until this was over no buying or selling stocks hold the status quo. Stupid maybe but not entirely. If the government can close or suggest closing businesses then trading should cease.

the statistics are extremely skewed when over 90% of the people getting tested are already showing symptoms with no control group of the population at random being tested thats like going to a dialysis clinic and coming to the determination that 75% of us will die of kidney failure.

I guess it aint too bad untill it affects you personally, then it means everything in the world. one family in new jersey lost 4 family members. The real facts about covid 19 is that the death rate has been at least 20 times the flu. and every country thats had it has isolated the people to keep it from spreading. there's no way Trump would shut down our economy for a normal flu. But I do agree with one thing you say, and that is to calm down.

Reckon why they decided to for this one? Might of had something to do with hospitals full of dead people. Then they told us to social distance, but folks didn't listen. And the virus spread. You know what else will effect the stock market, hospitals full of dead Americans, including drs and nurses. Folks treated and dieing in the hallways of the hospital. I got the impression today that new York is already starting to panic. Don't forget we were one of the last states to get it.If there ok by next weekend, we shouldn't have much to worry about.

Anyone have one of those bumper dumpers for sale? its a toilet seat that goes into a 2 inch receiver I realized I might need one today while buying a chainsaw bar and chain and caught the bubble gut. the small engine shop bathroom was closed, drove next door to mcdonalds and no entry allowed in the building, 2 gas stations had theirs locked. finaly had luck at a dollar general. If this craziness keeps up im just gonna start using the parking lot.

My concern is not, and has not, been about the virus. As mentioned above it's nothing worse than some of the flu strains that we have lived through already in this new millennium.

The economy, now that's a different story. This isn't just a mere Tornado or even a Hurricane or Flood that has affected an area the size of an average state. This is a full blown panic that, like it or not, it's here. It is a Nation wide, no, it's a global panic that is already affecting the global economy. It's easy to see the effect on the stock markets. Billions have been lost in short order. Tourism has all but halted. Airlines, cruises, hotels, restaurants, bars, theatres and sporting events are all operating in limp mode. The medical cost related to the testing and treatment of the virus will be astronomical. Wholesale and Retail outlets have already seen how quick and easy the supply chain can be interrupted. That WILL get worse before it gets better. Manufacturing is sorely dependent on foreign trade and shouldn't be. The dollar may be strong right now, but it has been artificially propped up for too long as it is.

The Chinese Government, our government and the media have ALL lied to us about the Virus and about other things. Half of the politicians and activists in this country are about to orgasm thinking about the changes that could be coming in this country. Can you say Venezuela? I'm going to stop right here. I could type 5 pages but I won't.

And with all that on my mind, I somehow have a strange peace. I'm anticipating rough times, but we will pull through it.

What really burns my azz is all the people that cross the border bringing with them diseases, and people/states offer them refuge, But now those people are freaking out over a virus? SMDH....

Stopping them from crossing is tough. Even with fenced areas. They come right over. Most are caught and released and that sucks. I'm not sure why they aren't chased back more often. Anyway, Stopping them from coming over is impossible, but supporting them once here is Unacceptable!!!!

The Dems and media ginned it up to paint Trump in a corner. He had no choice but respond the way he did because of the unknown. It's very high stakes in several ways. The country is divided , myself and a couple others have posted what we need is something big, like a 9/11 to bring us together. This is it, thanks to the Dems , mainstream media and social media . This thing blows over with few deaths and economy starts a recovery , Trump looks like a boss , a real leader and wins bigly and hugely. Y'all just relax , keep your toilet paper dry and do your part to Keep America Great!
