I've been running 10 leg hold traps and 5 DP traps since Feb 1. I have caught over 20 coons and 20 possums along with 3 bobcats. I just can't seem to catch any coyotes. We have a place where we dump our deer carcasses and nothing has really touched them in over a month. Plus I haven't seen a coyote track in three weeks. I'm wondering if I run them out of the area since I am in the woods more trapping. I have my traps to where I don't have to get off my golf cart to rebait them. So I'm keeping my scent down as much as I possibly can. The only time I get off the cart is to reset the traps. I wear tall rubber boots and use a different pair of gloves to set and bait the traps. Do any of you have any more suggestions?

Can't catch them if they aren't there.

Thanks dude. That is the answer I was looking for. Look me up when you put out a few trap lines. I'd like to go with you and steal your secrets.

There aren't any secrets to steal! Coyotes are wild dogs, not the mythical unicorn some people try to make them out to be.

If they're there and you pay attention you catch them.

I'm setting traps this coming weekend and you're welcome to ride with me. I can show you all I know about them in a few minutes then you can figure out your own style.

Thanks for the invite but I saw it too late.

However, the coyotes moved back in last weekend. I caught 4 of them this week. One of them didn't have ANY hair and ticks were everywhere on her. That was an ugly sight.
