For a low rate of $50 a year you can join the Alabama cattleman’s association, you will get 2 free steak dinners every year, and you can rent the no-till drill for around $6 a acre, just make a appointment when you want it, and go get it with your truck, pull it to desired plot and put your seed out. Take it back and tell em thanks. 😂😂

I was wondering if they will use a no mow bush hog on it ? Okay, that's funny. 😆
My opinions and comments are my own. They do not reflect the position or political opinions of Aldeer or any of the Aldeer administration.

Where does the seed drill typically stay? In other words - how far from South Barbour Co?
Usually the local co-op or a farm equipment store. When you rent it, they’ll write down the acreage and keep up with it and you pay them, they also keep it greased and fixed.

The biggest issue with trying to rent one is that everybody plants at the same time. I doubt you could count on being able to get one just whenever you want it at that time of year. If you go no-till then you want to do it long term to see any real benefits. If you do it this year and then can't get the drill next year and you plow it all up again....there's really nothing gained in terms of soil improvements. This is one of the reasons for experimenting with T&M in the beginning. It was the only way for most of us to feasibly go to a no-till way of planting

I just want to use it for summer plots not worried about winter. How big a tractor you need to pull it DW?
Would walk over a naked woman to get to a gobblin turkey!

I just want to use it for summer plots not worried about winter. Yeah that ought to be a lot more feasible there.....Be sure to go back and check out that "Undercover Farmers" video before you plant. I'm sure there's other videos or information out there covering it but I remember them talking about when to run a drill through your cover crop and have it work well. I think they said to do it either with it was really green or when it was really brown but that there was a time period in there where the grain started drying down and the stems got tough...and it didn't do good during that period

I just want to use it for summer plots not worried about winter. How big a tractor you need to pull it DW? 40hp 2wd for a 6-7’ and a 55 hp for a 10’. And it’s not hard to get them, just call ahead of time and get it lined up, I was mainly talking about summer plots, but you can get them reserved early enough of you wanna do fall plots as well. And once again TM May work better as it does in certain instances. It’s was around way before no till, this forum and CNC was ever thought about. Just my opinion.

Well of course its been around for a while........The foundation for all true no-tilling, including everything done with T&M, is based off of mimicking the natural cycles and processes and that's been around for quite some time now....somewhere between 6,000 to 2 billion years depending on who you ask. I sure didn't come up with the design behind all of it....I'm just applying it to food plotting....This is very same idea I was beginning to explain when it was just too much to handle on the other thread and had to be locked down. Then folks ran with it off the deep end making up chit that wasn't even remotely close to what was being explained. It is what it is though I guess.....

Yea it’s a simple matter than I learned how to do in high school, don’t take much skill or thinking involved. Just little sweat and equipment. But keep putting “your” patent on it and telling folks how they gotta do all this extra stuff like you to make it work. It’ll be just fine...

But keep putting “your” patent on it and telling folks how they gotta do all this extra stuff like you to make it work. It’ll be just fine... This is the problem with goober heads like you on here. You obviously don't even take the time to read and comprehend any of the things that myself and others talk about on these threads. If you did then you would have seen where I've told stories about things like the Japanese farmer who used these practices decades ago or the pioneers of the modern no till movement like the ones in the undercover farmer video who spent years doing trial and error tests to find what worked best for them....I've referred to them countless times in different explanations when answering questions. I even had one specific lost where I talked about how it became known as throw n mow and how I didn't want it tied to my screen name because of a the people who it would disrespect who laid the groundwork. Yet no matter how many ways I've said it......goober heads like you still want to jump in with your own personal issues that you're wearing on your sleeve to do nothing other than sling around some petty, childish comments so that you can make a scene and get yourself a little attention. I think real root of the problem is that y'all just can't stand for someone to take some of the spotlight off of you and your goober head behavior. I could care less who's "patent" is put on it. may write this down this time so you'll remember it. All I care about is that I enjoy helping others who are interested in learning more about it. I don't care who's getting the credit. As a matter of fact feel free to add it to your tagline that you invented it back in 60's for all I care.....and by all means....jump I'm to any discussion about soil and provide your insight on the finer details you learned about in highschool as well I'm just here to add another opinion like anyone else

See the problem to me lies in how it’s your way is always the best way. In any discussion on here, your way is the better way in your opinion. Just how I see it... I’m sure you’ve helped a lot of folks on here, and would help however you can. But it’s like your way is the only way, and it’s a simple method that y’all have way over complicated imo. But I’ll keep on being a goober head, don’t phase me none. I was banned from here for 4 years so I don’t want attention, but you wanting attention is another deal all together. From T&M to blood tracking or anything else. Your like a old Baptist woman, your way is the best way. IMO. Far as me, I don’t care if anyone ever plants another stitch of grass, but I do farm for a living and have for over 10 year, full time farmer, so I think I may know a little something about growing a little grass sometimes.
