Florshiem makes a comfortable dress shoe. Don't know what it's called though.

I like Cole Hann and Johnston and Murphy, but you have to be careful, they both make their low end products. You can tell with both, because the soles are glued on and not stitched. I have one pair of Cole Hann that look like dress shoes on top, but are more of a tennis shoe sole. These will not make it for the dressiest of occasions, but will be fine for an everyday type of shoe. You will not want to be in a court of law in front of an "old school" judge with them, but they are fine if you are in a cubicle and are rarely called up to the 5th floor or into a boardroom. My Johnston and Murphy's I bought at an outlet are awesome. I have not liked the ones I've tried on at department stores in a long time. Also, don't forget to have your foot measured every few years and in the afternoon. Things do change over time.

I wear dress shoes 5 days a week. Cole Haan are the most comfortable for me. Johnston & Murphy would be my second choice.

I guess my formal ones would be the suede looking ones. Now if it’s a funeral I have a pair of lace up dress shoes. Don’t even know what brand but they are comfortable as well and I’ve owned them about 15 years. Actually it had been 15 yrs. my dad passed away in 04 and that’s when I bought them.

This. I have nothing of value to add to your thread Clarence as I do not own a single pair of shoes other than one pair of tennis shoes. I wear boots 99.9% of the time. I own Double H, Lucchese, Ariat and Red Wing boots. All of those are real comfortable.
