That part of Bessemer is no more unsafe than any of the popular entertainment districts in greater Birmingham. It's just not a part of town where the cockroaches come out to play. My take on Bright Star as a whole is it is a good value for lunch. When it is time for the dinner menu to come into play there are other restaurants around that I would prefer to eat at if I'm going to spend that kind of money.

It is bad when you get a better steak at Texas Roadhouse for half the price and seafood is better at Captain D's and I don't eat D's often. Unless these people know a special good cook there they sure didn't cook it good the time the family and I all went and ordered five different entrees. Totally overpriced for what I expected of a more pricey establishment and won't be back.

You can find pretty much anything there for different eaters.
