So ive had a headache off and on for over two weeks now. It comes and goes. Sometimes it gets pretty bad. It hurts behind my right ear, kind of a throbbing pain but not throbbing with heartbeat kind of pain. Most of the time its just dull but does get sharp at times. Over the counter pain meds dont even touch it. Im taking methocarbomal twice a day which dulls it some but dont stop it. Dr said tension headache, I dont disagree with that. Said my blood pressure is a little high. Ive been checking it and it seems the headaches are the worst when my bp is the lowest, crazy I know. Have any of you ever experienced anything like this. If so id love to hear how you dealt with it.

Allergy headache?

Not in that area but I do get headaches that last on/off for months. I have one or two episodes a year. Strip right down the middle of my head. If it persists, I'd suggest getting a CT scan.

Schit i have 2-3 intense headaches occasionally migraines each week. Sucks only thing that knocks them out is maxalt

Ive considered this. I do have some allergy problems. I have noticed alot of things about myself trying to figure this out.

Im going back to the dr on the 12th. I am going to request an exray, ct scan or something that will show what is going on in there

I use Flonase. If I skip it for a week or so I get those. Behind my right ear. Throbs and hurts. I start it back it goes away. I try not to miss a few days in a row now

Im on the flonase and clariten. I had not started taking them yet this year because I only use them seasonally(allergic to bradford pears). I have been back on it for about a week or so now.

Bt all means get scans done and if you don't get any help after that get a new doctor. That's what I had to do to get help with diabetes. My previous doc was a shithead.

Ive had one for 4 days, sinus headache I’m sure. Friday was terrible

Sometimes I’ll get one there if my neck is out of alignment. Chiropractor always fixes it.

Sounds like the cluster headaches i was diagnosed with. Aint figured out how to make them go away/stay away. Comes n goes at differing levels. Mostly behind both ears. One of the comments from either doc or np was “just gotta break the cycle”. No chit! How would help.

If the doc said tension headaches, maybe seeing a chiropractor or so with any muscle spasms or do stretches...if they are cluster headaches which is what they sound like if they are a pulsatile pain, the first line treatment is give oxygen

When’s the last time you had your eyesight checked?

My eyesight is certainly not what it used to be, might be something to consider. Chiropractor is another option ive considered. I have cricks in my neck and under my right shoulder at times, I feel like the headaches might be connected to my back pain for some reason.

Chiro was just a temp relief for me.

I wouldn’t wish consistent headaches on anyone. I deal with dull headaches pretty much daily. Been to all types of doctors with no relief. My neck muscles feel like rubber bands ready to pop. MRI a little while back showed a little arthritis in my neck. Going to a new primary care doc on Tuesday and hope to get some new ideas.

Joe ive never had headaches to speak of. If I ever did get one it wasnt bad and if I could go to sleep it would go away. Sleeping has been one of the times this headache hurts worse, itll wake me up.

Sleep apnea?

Also considered this, pretty sure ive got it. My blood pressure is the highest(bottom number, usually high 90s. The rest of the time its between 79-90) when I wake up each morning. I do not sleep well on my back and I dont think I can sleep with a mask on my face so this is an avenue id prefer not to go down. I have been reading about things that help sleep apnea without the machine. Im about to try some of them.
