Yesterday morning about 0430 I just got on I12 in Baton Rouge and there was 3 18 wheelers east bound. One in the right lane and two in the center lane. I pull over into the left lane and proceed to pass them. As I get about even with the wheels on the trailer of the first rig I hear what I think is a shot and something hits the passenger seat. My dog Raven is in the passenger seat and it’s scares the chit outa her and she jumps in the back seat. I was like WTF!! I’m looking around and I notice the bottom of my windshield is shattered right in the middle. I can also see my wiper is bent all to hell. I finally decided to pull over and this is what I found. A dam 4oz wheel weight from on of those 18 wheelers. It was a piece of glass that hit the seat.

Had about the same thing happen to me. Need to get a dashcam in case anything like it happens again.

That doesn't mean a thang. I was driving up 43 from Mobile towards Demopolis and had a truck hauling gravel bust my windshield in several places. It had those signs, but they replaced my windshield. You just have to raise hell !

Me and a buddy were on the ramp of 65 getting on 459 about 15 years ago. We were behind a 18 wheeler and all of a sudden a big bar of metal shot out from under the tire and straight at my buddies head. It scared the shucks out of us but luckily it only busted the windshield. If it had made it through it would have hit him in the head for sure.

Are a nervous wreck due to neglect from a trucking company?

Glad y’all are okay Marsh. I think that I hold the record for the most windshields replaced in our department. It’s unbelievable the crap that flies of off vehicles.
