Was wondering how some the big pay hunt operations are using the baiting rules. Are they putting hunters over feeders? If you have hunted on any of these places did they give you a heads up that you would be hunting over a feeder?

back in the old days I used to work a little for an outfitter. TV and magazine crews would come and film and write stories about how hard it was to work birds or whatever (these are famous people)....the whole time they were sitting and filming next to drums full of corn. Those things were on a rope even if they would have dropped their call and sat on it.

Deer hunting was about the same. Can't believe what you see on TV or read in those magazines.

Point is I have no doubts that many are baiting...even if they don't see it. wink wink.

I travel the state a lot. A lot of the places where you could always see food plots/gas lines/powerlines with box blinds and tripods now have a feeder right in the middle of said area, and a short shot. I would now believe those feeders before were just out of sight but active, but who knows. Now -what does it matter? To each his own.... If I had a commercial hunting operation I would be baiting everywhere. ALL the hunters that came in from out of state for our charity hunt bought a bait license, so they expected to be able to hunt over it.

The same way that they always have, they just don’t have to hide it now.

It is pretty simple. If a client has a bait permit and wants to hunt a feeder, put them on one. If they don't have a bait permit or don't want to hunt a feeder, put them in a stand with no feeder in sight or within a hundred yards.
