He said the Lord had spoken to him and told him that it was wrong to kill and sale the deer.

Good lord Dw that guy was selling them cheap. Old friend of mine that was a bad pot head at the time now meth head use to quit work every year when season came in. He hunted every day and sold them Mexicans for $75 he got $100 if he didn’t gut them. We hunted with him one weekend and he killed one on Friday and it still had guts in it Sunday when he went home. Red light and a corn feeder on 3 different places, ..22 hornet to the head, pick up the phone and call Jose, Jose come pick em up. He never touched em.

Between my Dad and I - we killed 13 one year and thought we did great; giving a bunch to family. I guess we weren’t as good as we thought.

This State is FULL of Redneck dumbasses that still think killing a lot of deer makes you more of a man! If I wanted, I could have killed way over 100 deer this year. Killing deer is easy if that is your goal. Managing for mature deer and conserving what God has given to us takes a lot more work and intelligence!
I was at my processor last week and some A-hole had dropped off 2 button heads!! Told the processor that he was trying to fill the freezer........WHAT A DUMBASS! These deer probably weighed 30 pounds each. Yeah man, fill that freezer with all 7 pounds of deer meat that come off those deer!
Hunting brings out the worst in people.

The natives will (when they want a deer) kill em year round, and shoot 'em during bow season (why i stopped up there) and nobody does squat about.......

With the ridiculous doe days we have on private land, one could legally kill three bucks and 80 does for a total of 83 a year.
When I was poor, I fed my family all year with what I harvested during the season. It was a lot some years and most were killed with a second hand 12 gauge pump shotgun with a bead sight. My highest year was 22 and we ate every one of them.

I'm betting that most of those deer were shot with the aid of a spotlight. The natives will (when they want a deer) kill em year round, and shoot 'em during bow season (why i stopped up there) and nobody does squat about....... Not sure about how it is in Alabama but in Florida I think it is illegal to sell deer. If that is true he must be killing 3 or 4 every time he goes. How the hail is that even possible Y'all may have missed the part where he described the guy as an equipment operator. I suspect that meant he works on a logging crew. That means he may be killing them on SEVERAL different properties during the year. Do you hunt within 75 miles of Alberta on Hwy 5? Has your lease been logged any in the last 12 months, or are they cutting now? If so, it may be YOUR club he shot some of them off of. They were likely all killed during the day and during the week (monday through friday) when the lease holders are usually at work. This situation would be one of the few good reasons to have a retired member in your club. He could watch the loggers while everybody else is gone.

I truly don't have a bad opinion of loggers, one of my two closest buddies owns a logging company, BUT also I've never been associated with a property that was being logged during hunting season that there wasn't rampant rumors of "those loggers have been killing deer on y'alls property".

The only reason that would surprise me is how the area continues to have such a large population. I grew up with a guy that was a true outlaw. Haven’t seen him in a lifetime but he used to hunt with a fully automatic rifle and has been known to kill 4 deer at one time on more than one occasion.
