Guys, I just found out that Anthony fell about 7 or 8 feet yesterday when a cabe on his climber broke. His back I cracked in 2 places. Neurosurgeon will be looking at him tomorrow and work out a plan from there. Y'all send a few up for ol' AC. He's a good old country boy.
I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

Just heard also. His land joins ours and I’ve known him all my life, good folks. Not sure where he was hunting, he has a friend with some land he hunts a few miles away. Here’s to good news tomorrow and a quick rebound! The fear of that type of thing is why I’m a ground hunter now. Too many people depend on us as fathers and husbands, and I know he’s safe as they come. Prayers up Anthony.

Thanks guys. I’m going to be okay. It’s compression fractures. T5 and T12. They just hurt like a mutha. I didn’t post about it because I feel stupid. I shoulda hooked in at bottom. I had quit climbing but I wanted to shoot one with my bow and started back. AMB doesn’t post a lot but he was with me and got me out in his Honda Pioneer. I know it’s a pain to hook up line at bottom. But you need to. I was going to 20. I’m thankful I was only 7 feet up when it broke.

Oh and I’m home. Just got to wear this brace. The stand was an XOP. I’d climbed with it once in the side yard as a test. No problems. The bands looked brand new.

Wow!! Prayers for you AC. I had an accident myself yesterday and felt blessed but even more so now. I was coming down and at about 12-13 feet somehow my cable became disconnected on my stand and when I went to sit flipped out backwards and smacked the ground still holding the upper portion of the stand and the floor piece still hanging on the tree. I pulled some tendons/muscles is my upper left calf as it got caught in the stirrup and footrest as I fell out. I had my harness on but when I got ready to hook up my caribiner clip was in the truck and I didn’t want to walk back wasting anymore time. NEVER AGAIN!!! I’m so fortunate and blessed that it wasn’t much much worse. Fellas take heed from what you’re seeing here and never do what I did. AC, hope you have a speedy recovery!!

Glad you're okay. Praying now for a full recovery. You've given us all a cautionary tale about hooking on to the tree the very moment we step into the climber.

Glad you are OK, AC.
It's highly concerning how your cable, which appears to be brand new, and from a reputable manufacturer, just failed like that. I was hoping you were going to tell us is was an old stand that was on it's last legs and you should have known better. Those cables look identical to the ones lone wolf uses and now I am questioning whether I want to use mine anymore on public hunts where cell service is non existent. I don't want to be hanging from a tree without the ability to call anyone and have to pray the search party can find me after a few hours. Thanks for posting.

Glad yer okay. Thanks for posting even though you said you "felt stupid". It prevents someone else from getting hurt that just may NOW WEAR A SAFETY HARNESS! I have a Lone Wolf climber, so I'm gonna do a close inspection on my cables also.

I been using a safety harness about as long as I've been hunting. But at times I got lazy and didn't hook up until I got up the tree a few feet. Then I had the bottom drop out a few years ago and it taught me a lesson. I hook up when I start climbing EVERY time now. Glad to hear you are ok.

Just a few of the reviews of their stands.....
Seat is narrow. Catches on your clothes and climbing harness which is a total pain. Top portion of the stand will NOT hold itself on the tree. This results in the top seat section falling onto the bottom of the stand EVERY time you reach up to move your tree tether up!
My first climber, but I think it’ll be my last. Where to begin... I only got 1 tether strap to secure the platform to the seat, just realizing after seeing pics that i should have got 2 straps, so quality control is an issue. Secondly, the platform is way to small, for me at least (6’4” with size 14 feet.) my toes hang over the edge even when sitting. Also the seat is constantly getting in the way when I try to stand, and the hardware in the frame is always catching my harness which 2x resulted in the seat portion falling onto the platform and scaring away deer. The build quality is good, but the design is poor overall.
Waited all season to buy this treestand. Came back every time exactly when the website said it would be available for purchase and every time it sold out. I even went as far as entering my email for notification when it was available for purchase and still it was sold out and I didn't even get any email notice either. I just finally gave up and bought a Summit Viper.

Thankful that you are ok! I've had a couple of compression fractures, and they are very painful. I made a full recovery from mine and pray you will do the same.
I don't like the looks of that cable and would find a different kind to use.

Got an appointment at the spine clinic in the morning. They can do the cement thing. I just don’t want no cutting. Yall send one up for a good report. I had a practically pain-free morning but it’s flaring up a little. Today by far the best day I’ve had since it happened.

Best bunch of guys in Alabama right here. But all this attention makes me feel like this: We gotta make sure to keep to around. You're a key reason this site is available to us. With out you buying, selling and trading guns about 150 times a year .... there would be no way of making up those classified fees you pay. You may single handedly keep the server lights a blinkin'.

Prayers sent for a full recovery. Good lesson for all of us... I’m guilty too sometimes of not being hooked up near the bottom. Lesson learned. AC, get well buddy.
Jesus... I hope you know Him personally like I do.

I bought the stand on here. The cables looked pristine and he’d only used it a few times. I don’t fault the guy I bought from. I sought out him. I’m not too happy with the manufacturer though.

“Killing tomorrow’s trophies today.”
On the distance I like to walk to my stands: “The first 100 yards is also the last 100 yards.”

Sure looks like a defect to me on an otherwise brand new cable. I'm not the sue happy type, but I might just be tempted to reach out to a lawyer to discuss options. Companies make these stands knowing how they are going to be used, it's irresponsible for them to manufacture in Chinese factories using cheap Chinese steel. They are charging a premium price for their stands, should be using premium materials and manufacturing processes. At a minimum, the manufacturer needs to know this happened so it doesn't happen to anyone else.
If you’re a common sense person, you probably don’t feel you have a home in this world right now. If you’re a Christian, you know you were never meant to.
