Saw a retailer on FB post that Nikon is replacing warrantied higher end scopes with lower end stuff they still have in stock. Doesn't surprise me since they replaced a $1000 set of marine binoculars I had with a $200 set a few years ago. I raised hell but they wouldn't budge. They kept telling me they didn't make my model anymore, which I already knew, and that the ones they sent me were comparable because technology had increased over the years. I told them they had a set of marine binoculars on their site that were $1200 and those compared more favorably than the $200 set they sent me but they stuck to their story. Last Nikon product I'll own.
