Any of you guys that grow chufa for turkeys, any interest in a small herbicide trial? I’m willing to come spray it, just not too far from Auburn. This would be a PRE trial to control weeds, so needs to go out in the next few weeks or soon after planting this summer

Thanks hosscat. How much area do you plant? I wouldn’t take up too much area, but have no idea if this will hurt chufa or not. It won’t control yellow nutsedge, but chufa is a little different. This product will control annual grasses and some broadleaves weeds preemergence. If you don’t have a lot of area we may not want to risk it. If it isn’t a concern we might could take a look.

You know where I am, and are welcome to spray it. It would be easier to let me spray it, but my equipment may not be up to research standards.

I'm only 3 hours away from Auburn and I've got right at 15 acres worth you can spray!

I have planted as much as 6 acres, in multiple locations. The field I had in mind is about 2 acres and right close to my house. I always plant my chufas in rows instead of broadcasting, I think I get better stands that way.

Thanks folks. I will update in the next couple of weeks but looks like I have several options.
