They already have you banned I am sure, even before posting that. I bet the site autocorrects 60 to 40, wheat to acorns, before light to noon, 10 gauge to .410, and Nitros to Winchester.

If they give you any crap tell them, "hell any gun will kill one at 20 yards but it takes a mans gun to knock one down at 60." Then throw in something about how if 1 out of 3 you knock down at 60 is still laying there when you get to him you consider that a good enough percentage. LOL! That should do the trick.

The mighty OG himself has spoken. This whole deal is absurd. They aren't going to be the "high traffic" turkey hunting site he thinks they are if he continues to censor all of his members. Bird is even more pathetic acting like his little peon. Here's the quote

we have been seeing a very sharp increase in drama revolving around people posting up very long shots , and promoting long , long shots - there was quite a bit of fighting in between members - on top of that we have had to in the past take down some nasty posts about people crippling gobblers with the shots at 50 yards with some people bashing each other over it - this has reached a issue in the last few weeks with numerous newbie hunters  posting up some horrible patterns from long, long , long shots  - the agreed upon policy to keep the peace, to maintain the image of the site as that of a responsible group , and mostly to avoid influencing new hunters ----  is to ask turkey hunters here to not post anything past 40 yards - this is the long held sociably acceptable standard for a magnum powered tuned shotgun shooting state of the art equipment - 40 yards also happens to be the exact distance at the NWTF shoots - We have in the past been accused with good reason of allowing people to promote exceptionally risky shots in the woods , this last season or two its got out of control with the promoting of that -

Again , there has been some long posts and discussion about this , everyone understands the reasoning behind it - We are not telling anyone what to do when they go turkey hunting , we are only asking they keep it low key here by posting  it at 40 - and telling them to use their "imagination " on how well it does past that ---  people can continue to do as they please but there will be a effort to maintain a conscientious eye out for influencing others online

Some people posted up longer than 40 yard shots , some even way farther , they were taken down for reasons explained - some objected , we explained - a  member or 2 got rude and disrespectful with me and or the staff in PM's or in smack talk  .....and no we dont circulate Pm's - -  Ive been doing this a while , we know what we are doing when it comes to running a high traffic turkey hunting site - Once a member thinks they can be rude or disrespectful to another member or staff and thinks that they can get away with it , the situation only gets worse - I don't play games - they do it to me , they bounced of the site instantly ....

We don't put up with  the internet keyboard tough guy BS here

as far as your team , recruit a member of the random registration and continue to play in the contest

Discussions of anything farther than 40 yards is mainstream these days and fine with me. But it's their site. If they want to be childish asswipes about who posts something and then kick 'em off even if they say something on another site, so be it.


Just for fun, what would be prohibited over there?

Shooting a bird on the roost limb?
Hiding in a barn, building or something other than a "real" setup?
Not wiping your arse with leaves so you don't defile the woods with - horrors! - visible toilet paper?

Way I see it is controversy gets a lot more hits than, "Hey I like this." "Me to."

Where you been, Hal? The only reason I ever read OG was to keep up with your latest handloads. I've had a bunch of other people tell me the same thing. I found out last night that you can't even read the handloading section as a guest.

In my case this is a bald faced lie. So what ever else the guy is you can add "Shameless Liar" to the list. He banned me because I dared to question the 40 yard limit at a website he has a bad blood history with. The NWTF forums. If he was a real man he would at least man up and admit his real motivations. But he won't because then he would have to admit they ban people for even mildly disagreeing with them "AT ANOTHER WEBSITE."

As for me, I've wasted enough time on the lying psychopath. If running a website has filled him with this much of a god complex one can only imagine what would happen if he got elected treasurer of his local rotary club or something. Probably draft a formal declaration of war and invade Canada.

The opinion of him over at the NWTF forums is pure mud.

I'm a little bummed about the latest downturn of events over at OG.... It's a shame.

There is some history there. About the time OG was started, a bunch of folks got pissed with mods(and members) on the NWTF site and pretty much all went to OG within a few days of each other. I am not sure what the exact issues were(or are) but from the sound of things are still some mutual hard feelings between Old Gobbler and the NWTF sites. (at least that is my perception)

I just read this comment from the OG admins. Give me a flippin break!

"Let's get one thing straight right now. No member and we don't care who you are will ever be allowed to mouth off to the moderators let alone the administrator of the site. We will have a civil discussion with members but once a member feels compelled to be so brazen to get disrespectful. Well you know it's not going to end well for that person at all. We don't play that game!"

If we got banned here for mouthing off to moderators I would have been gone a long time ago along with about every other person on here.

Especially if you expand the definition of "mouthing off" to include asking a simple straight forward question like "what did I do?"
