Me and Bowtarist smoked some one time. They weren’t bad

Not your traditional fried or Braised squirrel but I once killed one in the backcountry that wouldn't leave my camp and put it on a stick and roasted it over a fire. It was damn fine eats.

I'm planning on hitting the woods for squirrels here before too long, will have to try grilling them.

The Deermeatfordinner channel on YouTube has a lot of cool catch, clean & cook videos. He had a video not long ago where he grilled them (indoors, but same concept) after boiling them for about 15 minutes in heavily seasoned water. Looked good and not too tough either.

I love squirrel fried, but it's a challenge sometimes with the tough old boar squirrels.
