I didn't read everything posted word for word, so if this has already been discussed, ignore it. My lifetime license was purchased over 32 years ago. When purchased it was sold as the only license that I would ever need to hunt. It actually states that it covers all methods of hunting and licenses. Yet now we have the baiting privilege license, that I must buy if I want to hunt that way. When the baiting privilege was a permit, It wasn't covered by my license that covers all licenses for me. But when they changed it to be a license, to get that federal money, then my lifetime license should cover me. I know I'm uneducated, but seems they have contradicted themselves by changing the term from permit to license to get that extra money. I'm just hoping some deep pocketed person decides to take it to court.

I have been unable to find any info on that. I've a a lifetime for 32 years also but don't remember what it was sold as.

For the record, they won’t be sending you a check if they take any privileges away

The bait crap doesn't have anything to do with hunting rights/hunting license/hunting - that is why you have to pay extra for putting out piles of corn despite having a lifetime hunting license.
And it is only a whopping $15 - what people will spend at McDonalds for crap food.
Bunch of whining cheapskates.

1. It has everything to do with purchasing a license that stated that it covered all privileges many years ago. For a rather large sum of money at that time. I don't know anyone that prefers to pay for anything and then later pay again. 2. I'm very frugal with my money and rarely waste it of eating out. Again since I've already paid for the privileges why should I waste money paying again. 3. I'm not whining, just stating the facts as I was told and explained years ago and the current contradictions.

If you want to hunt over bait you have the OPTION of buying the permit.

It is that simple. You *are* whining. So are the other posters. Bunch of crybabies.

The point is when the state changed it from a permit to a license, the lifetime should cover it. I paid for the license but shouldn't have had to under their previous agreement with the lifetime license.

I paid for the license but shouldn't have had to under their previous agreement with the lifetime license. What most are saying is that It's NOT a Hunting license, it's a Baiting Privilege License. The methods of hunting were gun, archery, and spear when you purchased a lifetime license which you still have. Just checked, Spear has been disallowed for deer, air gun was added...

I'm just still ticked that even though I'm a land AND home owner in AL, I have to buy a non-resident license. Since you own a home in Alabama, list that as your residency, get a Bama DL and buy Florida nonresident if you hunt there... pretty simple

You also shouldn't have to pay f***ing property taxes every year to lease the piece of dirt from the county/city after you have already paid for the damn thing.

I learned the hard way that having an Alabama DL is enough for the Alabama department of revenue to want state income tax. Florida has none.
