So, I'm tired of having those few weeks at the first of the season where I can't hunt. I think I'm ready to buy a bow. I was measured about 4-5 years ago and they guy said that I had a 31" draw length. Gimme some suggestions on brands. I dont want to spend a ton. I'm pretty stout and I plan to hunt in smaller spots with it.

Go to a bunch of shops and shoot a bunch of brands and a bunch of different models from each brand....then go to the classifieds on archery talk and find a used one that probably will have custom strings and very few shots on it for hundreds less than new...buy the best all black accessories you can afford and keep the accessories for ever. You will lose a lot of money selling a bow loaded, because few people want the exact same accessories you picked

The New Breeds are awesome but I would shoot ever one you are interested in don't buy one that you have not shot if you find a good used one find a shop or someone that as one and shoot it. thumbup

Listen to these guys when they say shoot different ones! I prefer Mathews, but you can kill a deer with every one of them!

How were you measured?? I wouldn't guess you to be a 31" draw length...Might want to play with a few different draw lengths before buying....I "measure" completely different than i shoot....

I shoot Mathews...I'm 6'3" and my draw length is 29 1/2" but I shoot 29" with a string loop.

I would get measured again. In order to be a 31" draw, you would have to have a wing span of 77.5". And unless your knuckles drag the ground, you'd have to be in the neighbourhood of 6' 6" to 6' 7" tall.

I was gonna ask if his knuckles dragged the ground. I decided not to just in case we met ! LOL
