For granddaughters new set up...

35lb draw weight, 26 1/2” draw length, Spine weight 500 and from what I’ve read on the google it may be better to leave the arrows a little long. Thoughts on that and is 100gr broadhead correct for that set up? If there’s a big ol calculation involved please just send a link to a calculator laugh

100 gr head will work fine I would make sure it's a cut on contact or at a minimum a fixed blade head and would build a arrow that is a lil on the heavy side 400 total arrow weight and liming shot distance to about 25 yds
Also a 500 spine is not the weight of the arrow that's how much the arrow flexes
As for the cut length I would cut them no shorter than flush with the front of the riser to keep the head away from her bow hand

Got it thanks. I knew that on the spine. Don’t know why I typed that

A 100gr. head is going to be stiff. With a 500 spine and a 27” arrow a 125 or 150gr. will tune better and give her added weight to help penetration. Another alternative would be to use brass inserts instead of the standard aluminum ones. If you go this route, a 100gr. head will be fine.

Thanks Shaw. That’s what I was looking for. I started to read about FOC and my OCD went crazy. Decided to ask
