That'll work Perchjerker.

Regarding expandable broadheads as opposed to a fixed broadhead lodged in muscle... an expandable's blades moves back and forth and doesn't provide a "fixed" cutting resistance like the blades of a fixed broadhead.

I'm well aware of the physiological aspects of tissue damage, blood loss and blood clots and I don't push my deer after a shot. Watching them fall is the best though.

Nonetheless, your SlickTricks are AWESOME broadheads and I will agree, as I always have...pass-thrus are extremely desirable but I'll take the approx extra 7/8" of cutting surface.

Also, I'm shooting a 359 gr arrow at 299 fps so I have plenty of KE to blow through a deer even with Rages. I wouldn't shoot expandables if I didn't have more than enough KE to penetrate.

We'll both have fun no matter what. I hope you shoot a monster!

Good luck!

All I can speak from is experance. I killed a deer in Tennercee Thursday afternoon. He was 32 yards and I shot him with a 3 blade Rage. The Rage went thru him like a knife thru hot butter and he piled up just out of site. The Rage knocked a hole in that deer big as the bottom of a coffee cup and a blind man could follow the blood trail. I'm VERY happy with the Rage broadhead performance. thumbsup

I've never weighted my arrows but the bow shoots around 290 fps.

Here's what my Rage 3 blade did Saturday. The hole you see is the exit hole. The entrance hole was just as big and hit about 3 ribs behind where the exit hole is. The deer ran 50 yards and flipped over in a pasture. There was blood and hair splattered all over the ground and several trees where she stood. The shot is the key. Put in their lungs and let the air out of them!!

Don't read that the wrong way. I don't care what people shoot. If you have confidence in it then shoot it. I made that post just picking at squeaky, he is a buddy of mine and shot a deer in Illinois last week and could not find it due to no penetration. I hate it for him and feel bad for him as well. Personally I like Muzzy.

It's not the size of the broad head that matters, rather the motion of the ocean baby.

It taste pretty good...you should try it some time. wink It WAS NOT the heads fault. Unlike some folks.....I have the balls to man up take responsibilty for a poor shot. However, the only head that would have killed that buck was one of those Rambo heads with the exploding tip. I hit the deer on the very tip of front shoulder quartering away. All he has is basically a flesh wound. No vitals where hit and he should make a full recovery if I don't kill him before then. :p

Seriously, I hate that for you man. I hope it wasn't a giant at least. It sucks to shoot ANY deer and have it get away though.

To this date I have only lost 2 deer with a bow but one was all my fault. I was shooting a pendelum strait down wich you can't do so I hit the deer in the but instead of in the spine up around the shoulder area. So it was not the Muzzy's fault. I don't know what happened on the other. Thanks for asking, now I will surely eat crow this year if I get a shot at one.
