That tracker sits a whole lot better than that Honda. Bass Pro will work on it.

Bought mine from Hall's Motorsports in Daphne at the end of April. New 2018 model. They're out of last year's models now. But, Honda of Laurel still has one in camo (more expensive) for $7495.

Halls Motorsports in Mobile also has a Kawasaki Mule SX for $6499. I’ve never ridden anything made by Textron that rode worth a crap

Well, I've looked at Honda Pioneer 500, Tracker OX400, Kawasaki mule 500, Yamaha something or another, and Polaris Ranger 500. There are a few others but I didn't really give them much consideration. Of all of these the Polaris seems to be way better on features/specs. I have never owned a Polaris but I remember several friends had an abundance of issues with their 4 wheelers back several years ago. Are they good stuff these days? What about their Rangers? I'm getting closer to pulling the trigger, but I want to make sure I shoot the right UTV.

Ranger has the box bed I want, Honda doesn't.
It has a larger and I guess more powerful engine, better ground clearance, tighter turning, more towing, better payload, more fuel capacity, 3 year vs 1 year warranty, and bigger tires. I also like the seating arrangement better. I know some of you have the ranger or have had one. I've never even rode in one. So what do you think about them. The Tracker isn't out of the question, but it seems to be sliding down the list a little.

I feel like I have gathered about all of the practical info I can on the Tracker. There just isn't much out there yet.
I like Honda pretty well, but I'm not sold on the pioneer 500 and will not spend enough to get a 700 right now. Maybe in a few years.
I like the features of the Polaris but am a little unsure of their quality.

So what's Your thoughts on the Ranger 500?

I have a Ranger 900 and have been pleased with it. The tracker is very quiet for an ATV though. Tough decision.

not sure how the others are as far as drive-train but the polaris is belt driven and if you get it wet enough it will slip like crazy

I’d get a ranger and never think about anything else.

20 years ago worry about Polaris when they were 2 stroke. Today buy it and thank me later. Quality is the best out there. I’ve owned several and wouldn’t buy anything else. Honda makes a great atv. Not sure on the sxs though.

100% why I went with Honda. All shaft drive, no belts to worry about. And, quite frankly, it's a Honda.

I actually went into it with the intent on buying the Pioneer 700. But, I hunt a lot of pretty tight places, and like the narrow stance of the 500 better. Seats two grown men just fine, and I put a bed on it. Also switchable between automatic or manual transmission.

But...everyone should get what they think will serve them best. What's best for me isn't best for the next guy.

I have had 3 Polaris Rangers over the last 11 years, 2 gas and one Electric. I purchased last April a new Tracker EV form Robb Peoples @ Sylacauga Marine and ATV. They even took my Polaris Ranger in ON TRADE. That is a first for me in the ATV world. I needed an electric, quiet ATV unit for my new club. Quiet trucks are fine also. Trophy bucks only in our Clay county club not far from Sylacauga Marine. I love my new Tracker. It has a lot of power. The Electric model is higher overall ground clearance than the Polaris. Mine is comparable in size to the mid size 570 gas Polaris, but mine seats 4 if needed, instead of a dump bed, which I dont ever use. It turns around on a dime, and easier to drive and maneuver since it is on a golf cart body configuration, unlike the Tracker regular gas side by side. In addition to Bass Pro, I guess on the gas side by side, but my electric unit is 72 volts, not 48 like most others, and All Wheel Drive all the time. One engine runs the front tires, and another motor for the rear.

I would not hesitate to check out the gas Side by Side Tracker. They also make a standard 4 wheeler like the Polaris Sportsman. I think Johnny Morris at Bsss Pro is on to a good product with good overall pricing.

I meant to mention in my above post that if you know of a Tracker boat dealer in your area that also sells ATVs, I guess they can hook you up in addition to Bass Pro.

Well I'm that guy that still likes rubber bands on my expandable broadheads, and i don't mind my belt driven Polaris 900 because i can replace most everything myself belt, clutches etc. And honestly I'm not worried about getting mine "too wet" cause i try to avoid water 3'feet deep if possible 😀 But like you said everyone should get what they think will serve them best! In this case I'd go Polaris or Honda all day, cause i know nothing about these new trackers

Do not regret growing older, it's a privilege denied to many!

Agree on get what serves you best. I love my Polaris, but wouldn't hesitate to buy a Honda. One thing I know about Bass Pro is just about every product they put their name on is a cheap POS. They have destroyed Cabelas and their product lines.

Get a Honda and you won't have to worry about working on it.
