Helping nephew load a buck yesterday afternoon. When I say all I did was grab one side of horns and step up on trailer to pull him up something caught in my lower back. Never had a back issue pain is about a 9!! Chiropractor or regular doctor?

If it’s muscular don’t let the chiro twist and try to pop your back. He will jack it up worse. Sounds like a muscle pull. Ice and heat and aleve

Probably muscle related..chirp wouldn’t help, if so... is it isolated to an area or radiating through other areas? If muscular, run to the doc, a couple of shots and you’ll feel like a new man by the evening.

Get an xray at chiro. Al it takes is one move the wrong way to have your back move out of place. It sucks.

If muscular - movement is your best friend, I would stay away from chiro if it is muscular

If muscular and sounds to be, anti inflammatory and possible muscle relaxer should get you taken care of

Do you have pain radiating down your butt/hip/leg? If not and it is strictly a pain in your lower back......then it is muscular (most likely). If you have pain radiating down your butt/hip/leg, then you have affected the nerve. A regular doc can give you steroid shot and some steroids by mouth. (time and rest will be your friend) A Quackerpractor can do some adjusting to help with nerve, because of what is irritating it.

Hot and cold packs, take it easy. Muscle relaxer can help. I have a herniated disk but pain level needs to be 12 daily before I will let someone cut on my back. Strengthen your core and keep weight down is my two biggest issues.

Mobic (anti inflamatory) Robaxin (muscle relaxer) ice (20 minutes once an hour for first 24, then alternate heat and ice)


TENS unit for electrical stimulation. This will provide relief and allow you to move somewhat comfortably. I have two of these units, never travel away from home with out it.

If this is the first time take it as a serious warning of potential things to come. Ive delt with lumbar issues for 25 years L4 5 and 6, bulging disc, arthritis, and stenosis. Bottom line take care of yourself like others have said keep moving strengthen your back muscles watch your weight. Im going to pain management now for a second steroid epidural, waited as long as I could, it worked a little at first, but im not too optimistic. Good luck.

Give accupuncture a shot. I've been dealing with back pain off and on since I was in high school, about 20 years or so. Accupuncture helped with muscle spasms and such. Some folks like heat on theirs but it makes mine worse. Ice helps alot tho.

Most of the time what this is (Because I've had them before) is your body senses something about to slip in you spinal chord and your muscles in that area lock down. You need to see a real doctor and get: Muscle relaxers, anti-inflammatory shot, pain reliever and possibly a program of rehab.

Give dry needling a try. It helps me.

chiropractor, I get what they call a hot disc about twice a year i literally can hardly walk when it happens and it takes nearly a wrek to go away on its on i get a pain down my leg like a pulled hamstring I can crawl into the chiropractor and walk out in 15 minutes. what you described happening is almost exactly what causes mine everytime theyll xray to be sure. but once he loosens up the muscles and makes that adjustment its like it never happened except for being a little sore in the muscle but nothing compared to original pain level.
