20 year veteran of the Dept and working with the STAC unit. I can’t remember what STAC officially stands for but that assigned group of officers are a bunch of bad asses. The officer leaves behind a wife and 3 kids I believe and a son serving in the military. The officers dad was also killed in the line of duty years ago so unfortunately the family has been through this tragedy before. Huntsville and madison county is hurting right now especially the dispatchers, EMS, ER staff, and his brothers in blue.
The secret to a long marriage is to keep on dating, just as you did before marriage. We have "date night" once a week. Hers is Saturday, mine is Thursday.
The only time a married woman gives those is if your not married to them!

God Bless that officer and his family.

Sad and tragic ordeal. Sending prayers for his family. This took place just off Oakwood Ave. That's not one of the better areas of Huntsville.
I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

My police chief friend tells me with the current climate he’s having a really difficult time recruiting and retaining officers. Incidents like this sure don’t help. God bless the thin blue line that stands between the rest of us and chaos.

When you stop and think about it, law enforcement is pretty rough in terms of recruiting. Lackluster pay. Terrible customer base. You'll see things people shouldn't see.
