Looking to shed a few pounds off my climber. Bankhead is getting rough as I get older. Currently have a viper and titan but was wondering if there was a good alternative that's just as comfortable but lighter? I do not like the looks of the xstand but the lone wolf has good reviews just not sure of the exact weight. Lmk what yall recommend

It’s hard to beat the comfort of a summit. I really like a tree walker and they’re pretty light but a little cumbersome to carry. You could try a hazmore seat on your stand and that’ll lighten it up some.

I have a lone wolf and a viper with a hazmore seat both have molle straps. The lone wolf is hands down easier to carry and much smaller. It is awesome for bow hunting, It is also quiet setting up. But with the viper I feel like I can climb bigger trees and it is more comfortable. I also like having the bar out front for gun hunting.

If you can find a dealer, the Porta Climb stands are very light and pack easily.
I bought one about 5 years ago at the Enterprise coop store.

I would like to see that porta climb up close if I could find a dealer close by.

I've got a viper that I bought used from a guy that upgraded to the goliath and it's one of the most comfortable climbers that I've ever sat in. If I buy another it'll be either another viper or maybe a goliath.

I've got the Cadillac, or actually the previous design. It's not exactly like the current picture on their website. But it's a really great stand, and one of only two climbers that I still use.

I vote lone wolf alpha hand climber. It’s slightly over 14 lbs and super quiet. Folds up nicely and can maneuver through the woods easily without hanging on things. On Bankhead there’s no way I would take anything as bulky as a summit. That would be miserable.

I have an xop hand climber but after several attempts I'm 1 not very quiet or efficient climbing with it and 2 it's not very comfortable. Lower back problems to blame I'm sure but if I'm not comfortable them I'm not sitting still. May just have to suck it up and keep using the summit

Better is relative. Lighter weight = less comfort in my opinion. I have never seen a stand under 15 lbs I thought was comfortable. Comfort is not my priority.... I would get a hang-on stand and some steps.

If comfort was my priority I would get some MOLLE backpack straps and a waist belt and put those on the Summit. I makes a HUGE difference in being able to carry a larger comfortable stand long distances.

I own seven Summits. Six stay in the woods, and #7 is available for spur-of-moment decisions if I want to hunt some other spot on the club. I’ll never own anything else. Anything better than a Summit? Not in my opinion.

Viper might be the best to a skinny guy but I find it as a tight fit with a jacket. The Goliath {isn’t the the middle one?} is the one I’ve been usin since it’s a bit cooler in the mornings and evening. I was mainly looking to see if there was a stand as comfortable but lighter. I didn’t know if there were any new stands on the market that I didn’t know of

At 52 yrs old here is what I use and own quite a few of each:

1.Gunslinger (heavy) - I call it my all day recliner facing the tree. For all day sits during rut only.
2.Viper (light) - Bounce these around a bit ... love em. After about 4 hrs I gotta come down.
3.Goliath (light) - Stays in the woods for long sits ...but not all day like the Gunslinger.

You probably wouldnt want to tote these around Bankhead I guess, but I toted block for a long time..so long these are like carrying a bunch of brick hammers to me.

I have an older viper and a LW sit-n-climb. The LW carrys and packs so much better. Hopefully the newer summits have fixed the noise because the hollow tubing sounds like a cowbell. But the viper is more comfortable for a long sit. I prefer the LW for bow (no front bar), and the viper front bar with a gun.I'm looking at getting the LW front bar accessory for next season. The LW cast alum platform is solid, quiet, no-slip, built-in bow holder. It's just better to hunt from IMO
