I recently moved to Auburn from south Louisiana and am looking to start hog hunting since I can't get to any salt water in a reasonable amount of time. I have never hunted before but I plan on going to Tuskegee National Forest outside of hunting season to get the lay of the land. Any pointers for a newbie? I plan on using my 300blk AR for the hunting unless someone recommends I take the .308 over it.

Check some of the hunting operations in Union Springs area. They are a quick drive from Auburn and right next to Tuskegee.
