All the TV stations signing off at midnight and playing the national anthem
Sorry for the repost - just saw where someone had already said that

I spoke to Red Holland on the phone about 2 weeks ago. We've been family friends for a long time. He and his wife both are still fishing machines to this day I heard him in a radio ad last month..."...ya'll thought I died, didn't ya? Well, I didn't..." A coffee pot that set on the stove eye I still use one of those, now and again.

Who remembers when you could go buy a hunting license and go hunt without having a file folder of chit to have to manage, do, fill out or carry? A coffee pot that set on the stove eye I had coffee from one last Friday and Saturday in the duck blind. Made my chest hairs stand out and neurons tingle. Black as midnight, no flavors or cchinnos or lattees or whatever. Just Damned Good Coffee. My MIL still uses a pot like this and we do, occasionally.

Yep. "Cowboy coffee" is easy, and it's good coffee, when you do it right. Nevermind all the percolator guts for coffee pot, YouTube is your friend, just type in cowboy coffee.

That MRE coffee is good stuff. I always used it for seasoning. Just splinkle it over whatever I was heating in that water stove (with my rock or something) and it added a tolerable flavor. Ex-military guys will understand that "rock or something" reference.
