Game Warden asked me the other day in conversation if I ever ate veal as in spotted fawn veal. Evidently he has and it is pretty darn tasty.

Another completely asinine change in my opinion although I am not a biologist.
No biological reason not to?
Is there a biological reason why it should occur?
If no, then why make a change?
Maybe MB can shed some light on this to help me understand it.

Is it actually not in the regulations? These kind of chat/text message pictures are super easy to photoshop. Regs only say antlered and antlerless deer now

I don't particularly want to shoot one, however there really is no biological reason for making a law against it. I see a lot of fawns laying at the processor. It really makes no difference if that fawn is 5-6 months old or a late born 3 month old with spots biologically speaking.
If you're gonna be stupid you better be tough.

Maybe MB can shed some light on this to help me understand it. My Uncle wasn't a hunter but owned the farming land we use to hunt. He didn't give a rip if it was spots, horns or all ears, he just wanted it dead. Deer are just a nuisance animal in many areas. We hunters make them all important. Nobody cares if you shoot a young squirrel or kill a baby rat. The need to thin the herd has outgrown the "ethics" of it all.

Doesn’t mean it wasn’t born that year
