The kicking game was AUs strength. That kid and his brother are unreal. With all the 5* players BAMA has.....how do they not have 2-3 kickers

I dont know but if Saban had a great kicker every year he would have won about 8 championships at Bama. Funny how that little part of the game has cost him several national championships!

Kickers are head cases the same as relief pitchers. I think the same pressure that Saban puts on the rest of the team, that gets them mentally prepared to play at their best, is the same pressure that breaks kickers. These guys that have been kicking at Alabama aren't scrubs no one else wants. They are kickers that are highly successful in high school. I have no other good guesses and it's become more than just a coincidence. I think it's the pressure and that pressure is exponentially higher at a school like Alabama.

They said tonight that no team in football history has missed more field goals than AL under Saban. It’s pitiful. That field goal was not the straw that broke the camels back. Two turnovers that led to 14 points is. Mack jones actually played one heck of a game I thought. The 2 turnovers that caused 14 points were pick six's from Mark Jones. Not sure how that equates with your statement above?

I wonder if it has anything to do with having a QB as the holder? I wonder if the kickers would feel more comfortable if they had a dedicated holder to work with them during the entire practice as well as the game instead of a backup qb holding for only part of the practice? Just a thought...

How is it possible to kick a FG with 1 sec on the clock? Really? if you listened to the game tv ref. said it was reviewable, therefore the clock starts on the snap, once the ball is snapped play is not over till the whistle blows Or did I just get hooked and fileted?

Incorrect. The clock starts on the ready for play whistle. It is supposed to take 3 seconds to be able to snap the ball after a ready for play whistle. They should not have been able to get a play off. However, if Bama hadn’t given up 2 pick 6’s, the field goal wouldn’t have been an issue. Once again beating themselves.

Those are my thoughts on it also. Kickers are a fragile minded group and I don't imagine there are many around that handle what Saban dishes out very well. Also, my thoughts don't mean diddly squat, so if we keep Gus, bammer can keep its kickers.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.
