Anyone ever tried to fish in the ponds at Lillian swamp? I am wondering if there are any fish to be had? Or anyone one want to share some intel on where my sons and I could find a place to catch some bass or brim? New to the area and trying to get my kids into freshwater fishing. I am in Elberta which is in Southern Baldwin county?

You can catch brim, bass, catfish, crappie, redfish and mullet in most of those ponds in Lillian Swamp as long as they have access to Perdido River. Fish on the right side of the river if you are putting in at like Seminole Landing, fish left side if going up river from Perdido Bay, because Perdido River and Bay splits Alabama and Florida State lines
It takes a long time to grow an old friend.

I want to fish in the retention ponds behind Target on 59 below Foley. They are the same ones in Craft Farms development. Get toward the houses someone is likely to complain. I bet it would be a while before you got run off behind Target.
I've seen good fish in some of those ditches in Mobile. Specifically the one by Babies R Us on Airport Blvd. Saw about a 3 lb bass and a bunch of nice 3/4 lb or so bream. I'd love to do an Urban Fishing article for Great days Outdoors or somewhere but I suspect most of where I'd want to fish would be considered trespassing. That makes me a poacher and scum I suppose, but I still want to do it. I grew up a mile or so from where you are talking about on Airport blvd. We fished there, montlimar creek and halls mill creek quite a bit growing up. The gar were the most fun to catch in there.
