I have some 10x50 Diamondback binos - wish Id gotten the 10x42 due to weight and size. Other than that, I love mine.

I have some Vortex Vulture 15x50. They are pretty nice for out west and reading ear tags on the farm. However for general Alabama hunting I prefer a pair of Bushnell Ultra HD 10x42. They are clear and bright and you have to spend quite a bit more for a real improvement over them. I think your Prostaff 7s are in that same boat.

I’ve tried a couple sets of vortex binos. I’m not a fan What's better in the same price range? I don’t have a direct answer to that question. I personally rely on my binos more than just about Any other piece of hunting gear I own. My opinion is to look on eBay for a good used pair or maybe a good Black Friday sale and up the budget if at all possible. When I first started using binos years ago, I tried to spend as little as possible. After using some good midrange glass, i understood why it costed a little more and why it was worth it. I tried my best to not sound like a total douchebag with this reply. Sorry if I failed.

diamondback is their entry level stuff i doubt itll be much difference between the two Actually, the Crossfire II line was their entry level. Now it's the Vanquish, Raptor, Crossfire HD, then the Diamondback HD I've heard a lot of things about the Crossfire II bino line. That said, I don't think the OP can wrong with the DB's

The best source for binocular comparisons is on the bird watching forums. I remember the graded one type of vortex binos very high and a great value.

Paid $120 bucks for 8x32 Vortex Diamondbacks. For my use, I am very pleased.

I’ve got both Nikon and Vortex binos. Both are quality. What I hunt in the woods with are Vortex Diamondback 10x50’s, and love them. If I were going to buy anything right now it would be Vortex. No need to spend more when they work just fine.

I made a stupid mistake and purchased one Vortex product several years ago.
Won't happen again.
Not a Vortex fan at all.
I'd up my budget, save my money and buy better than Vortex even if I had to buy used.

I know there are several different models of vortex, so not sure about the diamondbacks, but I’ve used the vortex viper binoculars and a vortex viper spotting scope, and I thought both were very good for the price. I believe the viper is the next step up from the diamondbacks and the razors are the top level

I used some vortex and thought they weren't bad, but I have no idea what else is out there or what top quality looks like. I have definatly used worse though.
