I am by no means a Woodfin supporter but having a HS Jr and having begun the process of looking for a college, at least one of his agenda items has my attention. tuition paid

Liberal empty promises. The problem is still that someone has to pay for that crap. It will be the taxpayers. He needs to spend more time promoting businesses in the downtown area. That will bring in all the tax dollars needed. I have lived here my whole life and have seen the corruption of Arrington and Lankford! Many don’t realize this but Mayor Bell was the best thing to ever happen to Birmingham,. Ask anyone who owns a business downtown. He understood that dollars are relevant and this pot of gold that the liberals search for is just fantasy!!! It doesn’t exist! 1 + 1 must equal 2! It cannot be 1.6!!! Oh and BTaw.... you only have to have a 2.0 GPA? WTF? Why don’t we ask a little less from our kids. I knew Fkers who smoked weed everyday in high school that had 3.5 GPA’s........just keep lowering the standards

I’m not sure how many people realize it, but college is already free. Yes, that’s right, community college is already for essentially everyone willing to go. Many start, few will finish. And I think less than 10% will get a 4 year degree. Still cost more money than a lot have

I’m not sure how many people realize it, but college is already free. Yes, that’s right, community college is already for essentially everyone willing to go. Many start, few will finish. And I think less than 10% will get a 4 year degree. Still cost more money than a lot have Many students literally make money with Pell Grants. Can't get much cheaper than making money by going to school. The problem is, that people don't value things they get for free, and that part is very clear. Very few students finish with even their 2-year degree, as a percentage.

Find an ACT study course if needed. It will be money well spent. Won't pay for on campus living but will cover part/all tuition.

OH... and the student must also write a 250 word essay...
I'm sure it would be interesting (and sad) to read some of those... Don't you have to be able to write b ef o re you can write an essay? 250 words? Wow, that's almost a full page.
