I’ve always liked having a little corn around, just to kinda keep deer in neighborhood.
Whether it was a spot you weren’t going to hunt (for instance, I feed in my backyard sometimes, but not gonna shoot a deer there) or 100 yards and out of sight.
I tried something different today rather than just pouring it in a pile or putting it in a feeder.
Took my little push seed spreader and spread it.
Just seems a little more natural than a pile and it should last a lil longer.
Anyone got experience with spreading it like this?

They mount 5 gallon feeders on the trucks on ranches in Texas.... they call it "corning the roads" ( or sendero if you are going to an elevated blind). Guide goes out before daylight making a big loop. He comes and picks you up about sunrise to ride the same route and see what came out!

Good job Anthony. thumbup

I was just talking about doing the same! Much more natural and Ive hunted Texas and thats what they do. 100 yards swaths up a firebreak/road.

I was going to drive my 4 whlr and spin my seeder on a few fields to see the difference.

Dang maybe we should of done it in KY when we had the lease there ! slap grin

I have never pour it in a pile. Always scattered it in a 10-20 yard area

Being a cheapskate is part of my motivation. My deer clean up a pile overnight.

I always pile a bit in front of the camera then spread the rest out. Plus damn crows see those piles from a mile away.

Georgia Football..Acts like Bama but has a trophy case like South Carolina.

We used to put corn in the spreader on the tractor and spread it in the grass patches. Just lasts longer if you put it in a feeder going off twice a day.

Yep I usually scatter it in a wider area than that even, makes it harder for them to eat so fast.
