Maybe it’s okay for me to post about AU seeing that I’m a Bama fan. Having attended college in the AU system plus having three daughters that graduated from Auburn gives me the credentials among other things that are work related I guess. So here I go.
Auburn will have played five teams that were all in the top ten at the time and lost to three in the top five by a combined score of less than twenty one points or so at this point in the season with three games left. But some are and the majority here still want him gone. Why is that I’m asking. Is it his offensive philosophy or his lack of consistency for what ever the reason may be. It’s obvious to people that have watched every game this season that AU could easily be undefeated right now but the inability to score in the red zone is why they aren’t. Ernie, Clem, jawbone, 257, Burbank, bward, Bud, bull and other grads or fans what’s your thoughts from a football philosophy standpoint.

I'll take this bait...
The only consistency with Gus is his ineptitude on offense against quality opponents. If it was year two under Gus, we could hope for improvement, but it's year 7 and things are getting worse, not better. Don't be fooled by the scores in the games this year, we were down by a large margin in all of these games and had to make a comeback to make a respectable score.
He is getting paid as a top tier coach, but we are getting average results, and there is NOTHING we have seen that makes us believe this will change.

Gus is a horrible coach. If the SEC West was like if used to be 5-7 years ago he’d be 6-6 at best.

Gus is a pretty good coach in my opinion but he HAS to have two things for his offense to be effective....a true top shelf dual threat quarterback and a great O-line. Take away either one of these and you get what we have now....an average offense at best. and it better be a guy that transferred in and already talented enough to carry an offense....because he aint recruiting and developing one.
The fool tells me his reasons; the wise man persuades me with my own.

No sir. No development at all. It’s pathetic It seems to me just the opposite happens. He gets one from HS and the QB seems to regress instead of getting better. Nix at best is the same as in the beginning but maybe actually worse. Definitely not better.

Just trying to have a football conversation here without acting like a bunch idiots poking each other with a stick in the eye. So what if Malzahn hired an offensive coordinator that ran the pro set RPO type and left it alone. Could he do that and would he be able to. And what if he’s given that ultimatum at the end of the season by the AD.

He has recruited a few....Gatewood was a stud, did zero with him, no development at all. Nix stud in high school, no better now. Then there was Jeremy Johnson, who couldnt lose in high school. He was awful at Auburn. But he wasnt developed either. Its pathetic

He had to hire someone from Memphis last year that hasnt done shucks. Tubbs went through the same thing when he was being ousted

As someone said here in another thread a while back Gus" believes" that his offensive schemes work
