Mag fed or dbm floorplate? If dbm make sure it’s not bound up. Look for gouges in the stock and dbm. Give it some relief if need be. Thats a play from the Kimber textbook.

Yea i may try that, I'll put a different short action stock on it. If it does better, is there any way to dig out the bedding?

It's a detachable mag, I've shot with mag in and out and doesn't make a difference.

Hopefully your shooting 3shot or 5shot groups without adjusting scope between shots?been to range MANY times and watched guys chasing their tail adjusting scope between each individual shot fired?lots of variables: solid rest such as front rest and rear sand bag, stock screws evenly tightened or torqued, scope base or rings screws loose, bad scope, damaged muzzle crown, barrel maybe prefers free floating if it's not already or a Little upward pressure from stock?other than that the rifle should shoot 2in maybe 3in groups at worst with ammo it doesn't like if your doing your part or a stock that needs bedding but not likely the issue bedding just tightens groups up a little most times.neglected copper fouled barrel will do this also

Could be anything, from sitting here. However, if everything covered here hasn’t addressed it, then you could have a bad throat or bore to chamber issue. That can do some goofy things to consistent bullet flight. No way to know. Lead sleds can cause their own issues with grouping, bedding, screws, crown, .....a bunch of other stuff. Sell it to me right, and I’ll figure it out or rebuild it. LOL

If it was mine, I’d check action screws, give the barrel a good douching, make sure mounts are tight and scope is good. If none of that did it, I’d send it down the road just like someone did to you.

Is it bedded to the front of the chamber or just the front of the receiver?

If you have a sporter barrel that's floated and not bedded properly, it will cause it to shoot all over the place too.

I may add to the bedding but I wouldn't dig it out.

As others have said sweets 7.62 bore cleaning and screw torque correctness. If bedding is the issue after correction start shooting at 20 yards then work out.

Update, I checked the torque settings on the stock, rings, etc.. Its all perfect, I took the stock off and it was extremely hard to pull apart due to the bedding. The lug was the tightest part. I shaved some of it out, and it easier to get apart. I either made it worse or a little better. Worse case i'll get a new stock. I haven't ever seen another one thats been bedded so I'm not sure if they are supposed to be that tight.

I don't think you helped by shaving the bedding out of the lug area. You want a good tight fit, which is one of the reasons for bedding the lug.

You've cleaned it well?
You've checked the scope rings and made sure they are tight?
You've checked the bedding?
You've tried different loads and brands of ammo?

Have you tried to let a friend watch you sight it in to get a different perspective? I'm not saying you can't, I'm saying someone watching what may be going on? Sometimes a good friend can be a blessing.
Have you tried a different scope or rings to see it that is causing an issue?

Also, you might take it in to a gunsmith and let him have a look at it. Take your targets in with you.

Check your base/bases. If it’s a leupold twist in/twist out that’s had several scopes on it, I’d swap them out. Bed down this road. It was maddening. Ended up being the pic rail

It has a 1 piece picatinny with 30mm vortex hunter rings. I have the wheeler mounting kit that has the lapping bar. May give that a go. I will have the exact same setup on my 7-08 in a couple days, same gun (different caliber), same base, rings and scope. The 7-08 was a sub 1" gun at 100 with the old scope, which is on the same picatinny and 1 inch rings. Will be excited to see what it does.

Bed the pic rail. Bet u $1 it fixes it. I bedded a rem 700 about 2 weeks ago. I’ll post a picture of the shiny parts of the action it had been rubbing on. I bet less than 10% of the rail was touching the action.

No 2 actions have the same contour.

Make sure your rings are pushed forward (muzzle end) in the groove of the pic rail before tightening them down.

Not saying, but just saying: on more than one occasion, I’ve had someone with the same ‘mysterious’ accuracy issues, that upon observation while firing, had a serious flinch/anticipation, were not holding the forend into the bags, following through, etc....especially on a light rifle.

Again, not saying that’s your issue, but sometimes the nut behind the trigger needs a different torque setting, too.

It may be just as important to eliminate yourself as a variable, before blaming it on any bad barrel, mounts, scope, bedding, etc.

Good luck.
