Nothing to hear but doom and gloom.
Meanwhile in other states the herd is fine in hot zones. But they’ll all die here.
And how they’ll ticket 8 year olds without a baiting permit.

There was nothing said at all concerning any of the statements from your post above at the seminar I attended last night. Trust me, CWD isn't something we need or want in Alabama. I hope the majority of Alabama hunters don't adopt your attitude concerning CWD & the education thereof.

No and don’t plan on going either.
I don’t trust anything that comes from Montgomery.
I hunt, personally know those in DNR positions and talk to people in other states that’s had it for decades. They’ve seen zero negative impact.
Some can’t figure out why their models show one thing and yet real life data shows another.
What the TWRA is attempting to do has nothing to back it up. They will decimate that deer herd and CWD will still be there.

Had very little answers, but was hell bent to "do something" even if it was the right thing.

I attended one of the early ones that Matt Brock gave in Hamilton. There was some good discussion and I respect Matt for standing up there for the state and facing the crowd and putting up with folks on both sides with an agenda. There are a lot of unknowns and a lot of misinformation on both sides of the argument to serve their own purposes. I will say that personally I rather/have read as much as I can personally. Universally I think it is bad and we should do all we can practically possible to keep Alabama CWD free. Full disclosure I raise a few stocker bucks and have a small deer farm. I don’t hunt high fence never have and never will however I believe others should have the right to within the confines of what is legal. I follow and obey all of the laws to the letter of those law and think that any commercial deer farmer violating any of those should suffer financially (heavily) as there is too much at stake. The other side of that is that I have major issues which I have voiced her with the current CWD response plan. All that being said we as hunters should all be as informed as we can about the game we take and how to enjoy it safely while protecting our hunting traditions and families.

State agencies will be responsible for more deer deaths than CWD will.

State agencies will be responsible for more deer deaths than CWD will. Current evidence support this theory in other states where CWD is present. Generally infection rates are low less than 1%, I am at the hospital and don’t have the numbers on my phone but something like of the 800,000 tested to date from the entire country including known zones and the positives are around 1%. Wisconsin DCNR got caught for sample bias recently as the biologists didn’t like the impending cut in funds so they started biasing their sample sets to show false higher concentrations. As I have said their are parties on both sides with an agenda.

I said it’s been around for years. It ain’t nothing new but that ain’t gonna keep me from hunting and eating deer. I’m not going to eat an obviously sick deer but I’m sure as hell not having a healthy looking deer tested cause the Chicken Littles in Montgomery tell me the sky is falling.

A deer doesn't have to look sick to have CWD. They can have CWD and appear outwardly to be as healthy as one that is not infected, until the disease reaches the latter stages.

Correct, sir. That’s the scary part, along with possible human transmission. No one cares about a few dead deer of natural, albeit man made, causes.

From what I've read and understand, CWD can be contracted and not show up until 2-3 years later. An infected deer may show no outward - or even internal, in the muscles - signs of the disease unless it manifests at an older age.
It's akin to looking at someone with early-onset Alzheimer's or a brain tumor and saying, "Gee, they look healthy." but the debilitating aspects don't appear until later.
IMO it's interesting that fluids - saliva, urine, feces - can transmit the prions. Probably the lymph and spinal-cranial fluid, too.
But not blood? The circulatory system isn't affected or a 'carrier' of it? Because if it was, that involves the muscles and that IMO would be a different ball of wax. But so far nothing I've seen or heard indicates it's in the bloodstream. Just every other fluid in the deer's body.
