I run all Stihl commercial equipment and use regular gas with no problems but my equipment runs year round. The only item that isn't commercial is a husqvarna (don't know model) that I bought from Sears in 2001 and it runs like a champ. Doesn't have the power my big Stihls have but always cranks. If you can spend the extra money get the Stihl BR 800 C-E Magnum which lets you crank it without taking it off your back. It's nice but only if you have a lot of leaves to blow. It's a beast! The Stihl 600 will be plenty for the homeowner use and is close to your price range and is a strong blower.
