quit yelling....

I use a tote made from a 12" piece of green webbing with a 12" loop of bootlace on each end. One loop over the feet, other over the neck and sling it over yer shoulder.

I've spent most of the money I've made in my lifetime on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted.....

I have a similar one as Troy.

I bought it from a kid that was making it to raise some money.
Its made from paracord and has a cobra stitch with loops on the end.

Before that I carried them from there feet.

Do you want to hear him gobble, or do you want to kill him.

Feet over my right shoulder. The redder my pants leg is at the end of the spring the better. I don't feel right putting them in the vest, but that is just me.

Put him in the "bag" on my vest. Hope I get to carry a bunch of them this year.

Yes, I was starting to wonder if I was a weirdo. It's a pretty good feeling having a turkey head bouncing off my butt all the way back to the truck. Okay, maybe that is weird, but it is what is.

Antler tote... funny thing is that my mother-in-law gave it to me one Christmas. Everyone else in the room wondered "what in the world is that?"

I think that carrying something like that on a turkey hunt would be a HUGE jinx! No way would you find something like that in my vest. If I don't have far to go, I just pick him up by the neck and hold him away from my body as I walk. If I got a long way to go, I put him in the vest.

I found out in GA one time that 2 longbeards will fit in a vest, but you gotta lie down on your back to get the vest on. wink

antler tote a guy that hunts with us made for me. prior to that just held it's feet over my shoulder. Those 20# plusers get pretty heavy without a tote.

jinx my arse.... laugh it's a jinx only if I leave it at home. The one I carry all the time was made by David Gaston in the early 70's. It has carried more dead gobblers than Bates Turkey Farm has........

Fold 'em up and put 'em in my vest. Easier walking out with them.

Troy, I'm surprised that a man of your experience has so little understanding of jinxes. If you've been carrying it since the 70s, the jinx has LONG since worn off. Jinxes don't last forever. They just haunt you for a while and then something happens to break the jinx and its gone.

So for you, carrying that thing is ok. If I put one in my vest it would be a disaster.

it didn't jinx me back then, but I hunted some pretty good land with some dang good turkey killers....

Oh, I completely understand turkey jinxs......several years ago a fella asked my why I hunted turkeys with a bow. In a moment of absurd stupidity I replied.."because they are too easy with a gun".....

You already know how that next season went.....

Several years ago a friend kept trying to get me to go to his church. I passed. He then asked his church goers to pray that I didn't kill a turkey the coming season....I had a terribly hard time (for me) killing turkeys that season. I found out about the prayer thingy after the season ended.

I got ahold of a Louisiana gris-gris doll and had a woman from there put some bad juju on him concerning any hunting. Then I told him what I had done. He didn't kill a deer that season, nor did he kill a turkey the next spring....or a deer the following season. Ya'll get the drift. He took up fishing and I don't think he hunts much anymore.....

The mind is a terrible thing to play with.....
